Inland Invasion: the 90's and the present
the KROQ people were disallowing digital cameras onsite but mae mae managed to smuggle it in as a tampon. don't ask me how. i don't really have any good shots but these will have to do. finally got to watch bloc party. strangely enough, they were one of the opening acts of the festival. and they were on the crumby second stage that was standing on sand. they were on at the same time as travis barker and dj AM act on stage 1. no contest right there.
screenshots from here on until late at night. i found LIVE wonderfully lame. hahaha. tawa lang ako ng tawa. i use to date this guy who really liked this band. lahat yata ng mixed cd na binigay nya sa akin merong kanta ng live. wahahaha. i sang along to Lightning crashes, I alone and Gas head goes West and the other famous song, the one about water. can't remember now. anyway, the frontman is now buffed and had one of those kabalah bead necklaces around his neck. in the middle of the first song he takes of his shirt with a flourish. and then in lightning crashes he dances this weird cowboy dance where he's pretend-slapping an invisible horse. he does this simulaneously with one of his guitarist. weeeeeirrd. hohohoho.
Garbage doesn't disappoint. Shirley says it was their tenth year anniversary. She's still so cheeky. =) And all the guys were so enthralled. There was a collective gasp from live fans however when shirley goes ahead and thanks Live and pronounces their name as layv instead of leeeve. hahaha. one girl yelled bitch! hohoho.
Lotsa bands came after Garbage. But the pictures i took turned out really bad. I really liked Arcade Fire. Galeng nila!!!! Madness reminded me of the blues brothers. "It must be love, love, loooove." 311 came sometime after Madness. It was their 15th anniversary and they put on a fun show. they sang their cover of the cure song that gail really likes. you're right gail, the frontman is kinda cute. Weezer performed before Oasis. It was less fun than their coachella performance. i dunno why. but they were still good. Oasis was a bit of a disappointment. Liam was snarling away at the crowd. It was quite amusing. =) The best part was Noel singing don't look back in anger. that one's my favourite. but you can tell they hated singing their old hits. don't ask me how. i just could. someone in the crowd kept shouting sing Wondewall!!! sing Wonderwall!!! Liam told him to shut up and to go fuck himself. grin.
beck wasn't last but he was by far my favourite part of the whole show. he was so awesome live(layv)!!!!! sobrang astegas nya!!! mindblowing performance.
It wasn't Coachella. Most of the time it wasn't fun at all, to be honest about it. It had its good moments though. They were these and these were they.
