The final episode of Dr Ten just aired here. Anyone want to talk to me about the loveliness that is RTD?

I'm not, however, prepared for a Doctor that falls in love with every companion he meets. That'd be a cowlippian thing to do and not very RTD :)

Absolutely. I mean, have you seen his Casanova? It was like he was saying to CL - No, you idiots, this is how you do an OTP!

I think I heard that Jack might be in Season 3 (towards the end) as a tie in for Torchwood. That should be interesting.

But Torchwood is starting well before that, isn't it? God knows where he'll have developed his mythology to by the time he ties them back together.

I'm very fascinated by what I see as the political underpinnings of what he's doing - that "Bad Wolf" is a nebulous concept denoting an unforeseen and terrifyingly malevolent enemy but that "Torchwood" is a completely paranoid response to it (just like the Axis of Evil and the Axis of Idiots), with the Doctor the sole voice of reason in the middle. I loved how he showed Harriet Jones as someone we could all relate to and trust in, and then how "Bad Wolf" took her to paranoia.

BTW, one of my favourite lines this week was Rose's, "15 million Cybermen, easy. But one Doctor - now you're scared."

I've heard rumors that Season 3 is set 100 years after Doomsday for the Doctor.

That's interesting. I haven't been reading up on the background, and nor have I watched the half-hour "confidentials". I tend to be a bit of a show-purist the first time through and only catch up on that stuff later. I'll ask my local Dr Who geek what he's heard.

We won't mention where they are getting the episodes from :)

Please don't! This is a public post.

It's great talking to you guys again, and about a good show.

I saw his Casanova. I put a region 2 DVD drive in my computer just so I could watch it when it became available via Amazon.uk. It premieres on PBS in the US tonight so my flist should be full of posts tomorrow. To be honest, it's very hard to watch because it's emotionally draining. The script is heart breaking and David Tennant's performance is amazing. I came away from that movie completely depressed. It's a wonderful production but not a happy one. You're right, RTD knows how to write an OTP. I never questioned Casanova and Henriette for a minute.

But Torchwood is starting well before that, isn't it? God knows where he'll have developed his mythology to by the time he ties them back together.

I'm not sure how it's going to work out. They mentioned that Jack will have to deal with being brought back to life by Rose. This will most likely happen during Torchwood's season. Maybe RTD knows that many fans feel there is unfinished business between the Doctor and Jack? After all, the Doctor did leave Jack behind with no explanation to Jack.

RTD has said that Rose won't be forgotten in Season 3. Maybe the Doctor will explain to Jack what happened to Rose? Who knows? Oh, speculation is fun!

BTW, one of my favourite lines this week was Rose's, "15 million Cybermen, easy. But one Doctor - now you're scared."

Oh I know. Fav line #2 The Daleks mentioned that Rose's heartrate had accelerated when she noticed the Doctor and Mickey said "Tell me about it". Oh Mickey, I do love you.

Or "Social interaction will cease" Ahh, now RTD can do humor!

Yes, I also love both your fave lines. Have you ever felt like a Dalek when you found yourself in the middle of a fandom wank?
