though I know it's useless,

How did life come to this,
and I haven't slept in so long,

Well, a little. Mostly lonely, but I wrote it to try to get back in the groove. Writing poetry isn't lke riding a bike for me, everytime I stop I find it harder to get started again. I just can't seem to let it flow the way I used to, you know?

I know what you mean; I'm glad you're not letting the poetry groove get rusty. Even loneliness can be fulfilling in some way...so long as you know there are a lot of people out here who miss you!

Trying not to... we'll see how it goes in the long run. At the moment, my sketches are taking up almost all of my creative attention. It really seems like I can only hold my attention to one thing at a time - everything else suffers in the meantime.
I miss you too!!

What a treat to hear from you! A nice little surprise in my Friday inbox. Just came from having breakfast with Allison and Maggie at our usual haunt. I love her t-shirts! And I'm so jealous she gets to sleep with Johnny Depp!!!!! Beautiful gifts. Allison had a good day turning 21, except for the fact that you weren't here. It makes me wonder where you'll be in October and whether she'll be able to contact you on your birthday. I hope so.

Have I told you that I really enjoy your writing style? It's crisp and clear and poetic at the same time, and I think you have wonderful talent. And your drawing is FANTASTIC! You are so multitalented, Jesse. I'm proud to know you!

Well, I'd better get back to work or I'll be a cooked goose. Hang in there and I'll see you on LJ!

I hoped she'd like it, I came across them a little on the late side, and I was only able to afford two shirts because there was a happy sale going on. Woot!

Thank you, it's been a long while since I've excercised any writing muscles, so I'm trying to keep it tight - I've leaned to excess in the past, especially just before I stopped writing, and I think mostly it's for the best if I keep it simple for now. I'm still working on the drawing thing - I've got a lot of things I need to work on.

been there done that... i havent written in a while... but it seems everytime i try to write im in that kind of funk that makes it hard to get anything out right.

I've been having that problem, but I'm trying to wade through it again and start writing. I'll be going out on deployment soon, & I've a feeling I'm going to need all the hobbies I can get!
