Not too much happening here. I work from 0700 (0500 every other morning for drills in firefighting and damage control), to 1900 (7pm) every damn day during the week, plus a normal workday on Saturday, just for good measure. If I was the kind of person who slept more, I'd be pissed... oh wait, I think I am. Ha! Well, it wouldn't be so bad, if we were actually WORKING most of that time - (underway, for example). Not the case. We work like anyone else who is paid salary - with a lot of time spent sitting down or sleeping, because none of us are really very motivated right now.
Today I finally bought some shit I've been needing for work - gloves to keep some of the oil off my hands - say what you will, but I'm not the only one who wears them, and I do play guitar... besides which, I'm sure that alone will save the Navy a forture in hand soap! ^.^ I already wash my hands 20 times a day, as it is. Foot powder too... try wearing black socks in 9" leather boots working in spaces with diesl engines that are equivalent to a train... it's a bit warm, and we're not even going anywhere yet.
Still working on getting leave for June... Lissa may have mentioned we're planning on finally getting married, on the 21st, exactly one year after I arrived in San Francisco! It's going to be a small affair - we're going to try for a nice wedding after she's graduated, fly my family to Cali, or her family to Michigan... or both families to Florida (hahaha... yeah, as if I could afford THAT!) but somehow we'll figure it out. I'm still hoping Anthony can be my best man though, and although niether of us want a huge wedding... it's a little different, planning to have a second wedding. Most people do that later... as a gift to themselves, or just to restate their love... but I'd happily do it every year, if that's what I had to do.
