(no subject)
Okay, so new info for all who might be concerned.
I'm leaving Great Lakes March 10th, hopefully taking a week to spend with Lissa in S.F. From there I'm moving on to my permenent duty station, Little Creek Virginia, onboard the USS Ashland, LSD 48.
because all the info I have is measured in probably and hopefully except WHERE I'm going, it's really hard to give any more information. Presently, with two tests still to go, I'm at the top of my class in GPA, with a 96.04% That used to mean I'd get a promotion automatically, now, all I know for sure (and now that I think about it, it was supposed to mean I got my first choice of duty station... grr... I'd ASKED for Florida, you think having the grades to earn it would count for something, especially when there was a fucker IN MY CLASS who got the orders I asked for!) Anyway, all that I AM sure of, is if I get top of class, I get a white hat, with the BECC(Basic Engineering Common Core)/DC(Damage Control) logo, with Top Grad written on it. woo. At the moment, I'm thinking I'd damn well better be able to get something worthwhile from this. Preferably more money. I'm not greedy, just practical. I busted ass to get my grades, which are better than the 3 people in my class who are here from the Fleet, with their Surface/Air warfare pins an all those ribbons... :-/ This place is enough to make a guy bitter.
