I'm slightly irritated...

Lately I've noticed something that has probably been happening around me for the past year and a half. Now for those of you who hardly ever (if at all) see mw outside of a cosplay costume, I tend to wear a lot of black and sweatshirts. No makeup, i haven't dyed my hair seriously in a loooooong time... you get my point. People, at Ithaca at least, seem to refer to me as "Goth".... Im sorry, but WTF?! In my book, a "goth" look would be someone who, yes wears a lot of black, but ALSO wears a lot of dark makeup and sometimes quite intricate outfits and dyed hair. If one would HAVE to categorize me (because apparantly people cant be comfortable unless they put everything into nice, neat categories) I'd say I looked... well I guess if anything Punk-ish. In all honesty I cant effectively categorize myself and Im totally fine with that... but when people start to assume Im "goth" just because I wear a lot of black is NOT OK. I have nothing against being goth, I used to really (and still kinda do) admire some of the styles and thought they were pretty cool. But Im not one of "them" and I hate the fact Im being given a category without my consent.

Also, after sitting through a few classes of my Women's Studies course, I've come to realize how much feminism is apart of my life and how much my immediate family believed in it. My household as a whole is a very feminist place and it surprises me to realize that. I've also noticed a lot of the things that I do, which I found to be normal at home, are actually considered "wrong" according to the non-feminist. It's freaky and big eye-opener. Its made me realize how much of a feminist I actually am. Though I dont plan on being any different than I normally am (hell no Im not going to be your stereotypical feminist bitch), it's really caught my interest. Im glad I decided to take this course, and I NEVER say things like that.

In other news... I still need to get my ass to the thrift store... The problem is not me being lazy, this I know. The problem is my lack of car T-T If I had a car I would have gone already, but since Im in Ithaca.... I am lacking of the vehicle.

And dammit I want bubble tea D:

thrift store, bubble tea
