I can hardly believe that he's nearly a year old. Wow. This month has been just wild. Lots of motion. Crawling. Rolling.
It's hard to get a picture--he doesn't stop moving! He's into everything.
He looooooves the shoe rack. He likes to take all the shoes off of there and play with them.
Daddy has big shoes to fill!
I've been in rehearsal all month, so JC has had solo baby duty. From what I understand, it was something like this:

I'm kidding. He does a great job and everyone survived. I did find a picture of a potty full of poo on our camera, though, which I am NOT sharing with you. This is what happens when Dad gets bored, I guess.
Silas is really into feeding himself (and using banana as Cheerio glue).
He uses a spoon!
And a glass!
And a cuuuute little enamel cup I got him (isn't it so cuuuuute?)
We had a few "just passing through" visits this month. First, a stop-over by
Mr. Frisbee.
Coincidentally, Gary's visit was on Silas' "inside out day"--in other words, the day he was 40 weeks and one day old. I had joked about it early on, but that day really had some resonance for me. His life, on that day, was perfectly symmetrical in a way it will never be again. It was sort of beautiful and weird to think about. It's just amazing to think that exactly his lifetime ago, there wasn't anybody there, and now there's this:
Mom stopped by to visit, too. She brought her latest toy.
We spent the fourth of July holiday with JC's family at Canaan. Silas had a great time. He's finally really old enough to appreciate his aunts and uncles. I have a great video, but no time to edit it right now... later.
For now, you'll have to settle for the following pictures:
So happy to be with everybody:
*
Learning the manly art of grilling
Playing with Aunt Kassi through the window
*
Learning to headbonk from Uncle Jeremiah.
Exploring a new space...
*
We were in Canaan for a family reunion (JC's dad's mom's side). Silas didn't find it very interesting...
*
but everyone else found HIM interesting. Just something about a sleeping baby, I guess!

Another big event this month was the ,a href="

GRAND OPENING!Silas got to meet a giant carrot (aka Tony Lopez)
I think he enjoyed himself, but it was kind of hard to tell.
He sure liked going to Kline's with Carlos afterward, though!
What a big month.
Check out the whole album for a few pictures that didn't make the cut.
Month 11 is pretty crazy awesome so far...I'll let you know how it goes.
Until then, here's one for the road.
