Well. I had been up for a manager position, but Jacque got it instead. This was a gauranteed opening, unlike previously. It was just a matter of who got it. While I know that Jacque (am I spelling that right?) will do well, and I have no issue with her being a manager, I can't help but feel that Peter and I didn't get a fair shake in the interview process. She received a one on one interview, while Peter and I interviewed together. And because Dorothy (the district manager who did the interview) did a poor job alotting time and watching the time, she had to rush through the interview with Peter and I in order to catch a plane on time. Then, instead of getting back to us within two weeks for some follow up and a decision (like she'd promised), she went on vacation (she's been with the company for a month, and goes on vacation; how lame is that?). So, while the interviews took place at the beginning of the month, I just found out TONIGHT. Tory, the manager who is stepping down and leaving the opening, gave an entire month before her decision went into effect just so there was time to choose a new manager, and TRAIN the new manager. I am therefore not at all impressed with Dorothy.
Anyway, so Dorothy even said that she wished she could've had more time with Peter and I individually, since she didn't get a good feel for us the way things were. To which I respond: "It's your own damn fault, you overly bright-eyed, too cheery bitch." (the woman's emotional levels don't vary; she has one level, Way Freaking Happy; it's impossible to know anything about what she's thinking/feeling because it never varies, there's no body language to read)
*sigh* Maybe when Stacy, the other Lead manager, steps down (which I think she'll do after Christmas, probably) I can move up.
So, to sum up: Jacque's under 18, in school, and will be going to school.... and that's about all the problems I have with her being manager.... bad time and interview management--am I done being bitter? Almost. Am I still disappointed? Very.
At least my manager at Sears will be happy. The status quo remains, and I won't be giving more time and priority to Disney.
