The Good and the Bad
Our local Italian ice cream parlour has a new ice cream flavour on offer: sweet woodruff.
Ah, sweet memories of a childhood when you could buy sweet woodruff ice cream at the local shop! I have, however, been deeply disappointed any time I tried the stuff in recent years. It always smelled like sweet woodruff in the beginning, tasted more like plain vanilla, and even the smell was gone in a minute. Not so today - the lovely sweet woodruff taste lasted beyond the first lick. My guess is that a little lemon juice added into the mix might be responsible for that.
Oh, and the Bad? I had one tiny ball of sweet woodruff ice cream and one chocolate - and felt sick for two hours afterwards. Seems there's something else I need to give up.
Also, I was quite sure I had a Sweet Woodruff icon but apparently I don't.
