I just. Don't. Get. It.

I've been watching a load of Criminal Minds episodes recently. And of course I've watched other crime series over the years. And I always, always cringe when they enter a house looking for someone, be it a suspect or possible victim. Why the hell don't they EVER think of switching the lights on? It's UNBELIEVABLY STUPID to run around with flashlights in a situation like that. Using a flashlight will only ever show you small parts of any room while at the same time make you an easy target for anyone lurking in the dark (especially when you hold it in that awkward spear-like grip I've never seen any real person holding a flashlight, right next to your head). If you switched on the main lights of a room, anyone who had been hiding there waiting for you would be blinded and thus lose any advantage over you.

Yes, I know it is because writers and producers and whoever works on these series want to make things more dramatic by having half of the scenes take place in the dark - but it's annoying to see the supposedly clever guys act this stupid over and over and over again.

Grrrrr.

Apart from cringing over the behaviour of fictional characters I've been busy sneezing and coughing and generally feeling like crap for the past week. I seem to be on the mend now but still unable to look at a computer screen for long. I hope I'll get back into that soon. I just need to convince my head that it won't split anytime soon.

woey woes
