Monthly Reading Motto for February

Feb 05, 2012 18:53

My bookswapping site's monthly motto for choosing books from one's stack of unreads is "one-word titles".

I do have quite a number of books that fall into that category, among them several titles belonging to book series, namely the Eragon and Septimus Heap series. I'll probably give both a pass, though. Instead I already got started on (finally!) reading Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea saga. The fourth book in that series has a one-word title (Tehanu) and so will count.

Other books I found on my Shelf of Shame and thus might try this month:
Mephisto - Klaus Mann
Stiller - Max Frisch
Tintentod - Cornelia Funke
Minimum - Frank Schirrmacher
Südland - Patricia Shaw
Suddenly - Barbara Delinsky
Abgespeist - Thilo Bode
Verbrechen - Ferdinand von Schirach

Some of these will probably get discarded after a few pages - but that still removes them from the Shelf and therefore means a step forwards.

pageturning, shelf of shame
