The house is empty once again, the quiet very welcome after the four-day weekend.

I have worked my way through the complete booklet about the "common mistakes at CAE" and tested myself. Am very happy with the results, as I not only managed to get more than 90% of the answers correct, but also found out which areas I need to read up on. So it has well been worth the small expense.

I also got part of this week's homework done. Might tackle another writing task if I find the time tomorrow. However, my first one has received an "excellent!", so I might just leave it at that. ;)

This morning I went to the doctor's for a checkup after that "breakdown" I suffered last week. I am feeling better now, but at times my blood pressure still seems to play games with me. The Doc checked and tut-tut-ed as doctors are prone to do, but could not find anything wrong so far. He suggested a blood test and an ECG and I agreed, shrugging, commenting that it might be a sensible thing to do one of these days. But no, apparently he wants it asap, so I have my next appointment on Thursday morning at 8:15 am. Am not really expecting anything to come out of it - have been checked, pricked, measured, ultra-screened and re-checked many times before and never has anything been found. I have come to assume that my blood pressure just has a fancy personality. ;)

Am now waiting for the mail to arrive; if the insurance papers are in it, I will go and do the paper work with the car dealer later - they offered to do the registration stuff etc. for the new car for us.

ETA: Quiet? Did I say quiet???? Sooo not longer true - now there is a loud excavator in my back yard, demolishing what is left of the former outhouse. I was a bit surprised by the builders turning up today, but better having something done today and by surprise than waiting even longer. Oh, and regarding our building activities (or rather the recent lack of them): we are still waiting for the building permit for the garage, so it still has a roof made of plastic foil and we still are not allowed to do anything about it. The local building authorities suck mightily. They managed to send us a note about receiving our application ten days after The Husband went there and personally handed it in!

ETA #2: No insurance papers in the mail. I almost cheered - I would not have been able to make the time this afternoon anyway. Let's hope for better luck tomorrow.
