Heatwaves and earthquakes

I have moved into my little room in Tokyo. It is quite small, but it is more than sufficient. It is in the Japanese style with tatami mats on the floor and a foldable futon.
I have taken some pictures of it, but this computer spontaneously rebooted and talked to me profusely in Japanese when I tried to transfer the pictures to it. So that will have to wait.
I miss my own computer.

My room has aircon. Lovely, lovely aircon. Yesterday's temperature was about 40 degrees celsius. That is quite hot. I am not a huge fan of summer in general, so this is quite trying for me.
The house is situated in what I take to be typical Japanese suburbia. I have found a small temple, an even smaller graveyard, several schools and even a baseball field (or whatever those things are called). The streets are small and rubbish disposal is an important issue in the neighborhood...! XD Very calm, very peaceful.

It is strange to have no forms of electronics in my room. I spend my evenings drawing and writing, which is very nice. The evenings seem to be much longer. I suppose it is good in a way that I have not managed to get the ancient mac that I brought working yet, or I might just spend my evenings like I do at home, in front of the computer, and then there would hardly be any reason for me to go to the other side of the planet.

There was an earthquake yesterday morning! It was quite small here, but the Canadian girl in my house said that it measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. (Or maybe it was 5.4) The house shook for about ten seconds. It was sort of equivalent to a large lorry driving by.

Tomorrow I will be going to Comiket, which should prove interesting! I will as always try to find the holy grail of doujins, but we will have to see what I can get... I am looking forward to seeing whether some of the other participants of WCS will be there in cosplay. I will be going in civilian clothes, since it is no fun to be just one part of the desert gay team... (RaduxIon of Trinity Blood. Just you wait for the pictures...!)

I was a bad girl and went shopping with Marie before she went home. But I managed to get a few nice things quite cheaply. Though I did have to pay full price for my lovely Atelier Boz jacket. Oh, I am a plus size in Japan! XD Well, in H.Naoto, anyway. Much love for Atelier Pierrot in the basement of LaForet, where they always play Buck-tick!

As always, I hope you are well, wherever you are.
