Cosplay and J-popcon
Last weekend the annual J-popcon (convention for Japanese popular culture) came around again. And thank goodness for that! I haven't had that much fun in a long time!
There were lots of reasons for this (among them random doll-geekery and great people), but mostly the cause of my amazing mood was cosplay! It had been a long time since I'd last made a costume and I'd almost forgotten how much I enjoy it. But what I enjoyed even more was wearing it! And I have my partners in crime, angel_army and leechy_girl and our patient photographer kinu to thank for that!
One thing that made the J-popcon experience stand out was YOURS TRULY WINNING THE COSPLAY CONTEST! ^^ That was a much needed ego-boost!
We chose the novel series/manga/anime Trinity Blood, which has such wonderful character designs. And because the baddies always have more fun, we preferred characters from the Rosencreuzorden.
So I give you the 3 most important (well, they like to think so) members of the RCO (except for Cain, of course...):

Dietrich finally manages to overturn Isaak, with Helga in the background trying very hard to suppress a triumphant smile.
But once again Isaak managed to gain the upper hand... (Curse that incompetent mage!)
Dietrich and Helga try to seduce each other (Oh no, I'd never stab you in the back, liebling!).
Yeah, right! (But we're hot, so who cares?!)
Unfortunately there was no organ to be found, so Isaak had the play the piano instead...
And finally this one from when I was doing my catwalk when accepting my prize. (from the Japanese ambassador, no less!)
Whew... We had an incredible amount of fun... There were so many funny little episodes that I don't even know where to begin. So I won't. ;) But I messed up a few times because of stress, like putting my iron cross on the wrong pocket, turning my arm-band-thing upside down and forgetting the microphone when I got on stage! XD And we hadn't rehearsed our act, so that was total chaos... Incidentally one of our favourite subjects in the RCO!
I have a lot more pictures, but I can't be bothered to run them through ps when my accomplices are so much better at it.
On another note; I think tonight is the first night that I don't really have anything to do since... well, you know what. I'm not sure I feel too great about that.
