When I first read the summary, I was kind of 'eh' about it. I'm not very big on Mafia/political AUs, and I've never really been Sean Parker's biggest fan, so even though it promised Mark/Eduardo, I was still kind of iffy about it. But then-then I read that it was a crime AU... with superpowers. And as we all know, I'm a huge sucker for superpower fics. That said, the world building in this is the most spectacular thing about it. The fact that this fanfiction makes Sean out to be a good person? That this fic actually makes me like smarmy, sleazy Sean Parker? That is the miracle. Though considering that this is the same author that made me develop a huge crush on Amy Ritter, Marilyn Delpy, Erica Albright, and Christy Lee, after all this time, I think she can make me like anyone.
This whole time, he thinks. This whole time he's been treating Mark Zuckerberg like a crime boss, like he's the head of the family, the master and commander. But it's not entirely true, is it, because it's the three of them, here; Mark, Eduardo, and Erica. Remove any one of those pieces, and the Harvard Connection falls apart.
Erica's the body that walks the walk, Mark's the mind that talks the talk, and Eduardo is their heart. (A heart, a mind, and a body walk into a bar.)
You can leave best friends and you can leave girlfriends, but you can't leave family.
