title  Of kittens and teacups and love  author  ren  status  Complete || 5000  rated  PG-13 || fluff  summary  X-Men: First Class (AU) || Charles/Erik || Modern AU in which Charles and Erik are flatmates. Charles studies psychology and likes tea and chess and keeps bringing home stray kittens, and Erik lets him because he's maybe perhaps a little bit sort of in love with him.  faor says  The writer says that this fiction was brought to life by her reaction to the end of the film, which was "BUT WHY COULDN'T THEY STAY FRIENDS AND LIVE TOGETHER HAPPILY AND ADOPT KITTENS." And oh god, the result of her call fills a need I didn't even realize I had. There are cats, and fluff, and goddamn cat fluff. AND DOMESTICITY. LOTS AND LOTS OF DOMESTICITY. Which I love and so should you. The fiction focuses on their friendship, and how easy and beautiful they are just hanging out. The ease of their compromises make me swoon, and the writing is just as smooth and easy. The ending nailed it for me.
