summary
Alternate Universe (His Dark Materials fusion) || Sherlock/John(/Mycroft) || In the pocket of his trousers, next to his phone, Mycroft carries the standard-issue steel capsule meant for protecting arthropod daemons. When people ask about it, he smiles and tells them she's not fond of the light, or of people other than himself. This is a lie.

So, this links to the first part of this verse, but what I really want to rec is every little bit of this. I can't say much without giving things away, but the concept of this is fascinating and really gives a whole new dimension to Sherlock Holmes and those around him. This hurts so perfectly, and it's beautiful and amazing. I can't get over how perfect it is, how perfect they are. Read it. Seriously.
