Canonverse || Gus/Shawn || Gus and Shawn create a new pattern. (But as off-kilter as he was, some instincts never went away.)

I have fallen into Psych hard. It's amazing television, and like Doctor Who had Bad Wolf, this show has pineapples, which makes it infinitely cool. Gus/Shawn has become my addiction over the past few days, and Concatenation is the best fiction I will ever come across in this fandom. The fiction is centered around Gus picking up a naked, obviously in-subspace Shawn from wherever his Dom handcuffed him. ...That sentence alone should have made you click open a new tab, but if it didn't, then the fact that Concatenation is poignant and absolutely clever should. And it's brilliance comes from what Transcendenza doesn't say: we never see anything, really, and yet, it all makes perfect, painful sense. It makes so much sense that I've created a new tag just to help me get across how good it is:
headcanon. And that's what Concatenation is for me. There are a few lines here and there that I swear I can see happening in the show, and dear god; Shawn as a needing sub makes EVERYTHING better. I see I am left wanting more of this verse, but the wanting makes this already amazing fiction so epically bittersweet.
