Wow, it has been a while since a public entry. I wrote a lot in my written journal, mostly my fears and apprehension about the new job at Booz Allen.
Last weekend I went backpacking in Dolly Sods, West Virginia. Tomorrow I'm turning in my final version of the StorySigns thesis. Wednesday is my last final -- Data Structures. Graduation ceremony #1 is on Thursday, and #2 (the IVSP one) is on Friday. Party to celebrate will be on Saturday around noon.
I've revived my exercise goals; 1 hour cardio from here until the first day of work, then down to 30-45 minutes depending on my sleep schedule. Most of it will be spent using my spiffy Halo 3 setup. I have the elliptical machine set up with a bookshelf in front where I can play Halo 3 on my new monitor, while mixing in music and/or Radiolab podcasts. Now that's what I call letting time fly while exercising.
Only two weeks left here in Riverdale. I'm starting to get nostalgic already. Then it'll likely be at least a month or two in Frederick, until I can figure out my finances and get a place of my own. Right now I'd love to find a house for under 170k, but it isn't looking like it'll happen. More likely I'll rent for a year, save up for the down payment, then do something. I also want to find out how the job goes before I commit myself too far.
I won't go into much details about my grades, because I know them very little myself. I know I've got at least a B in Data Structures, and at least a B in both the Writer's House Symposium and my Writing Fiction class. I hope my polished thesis will warrant an A in that class; it was a lot of work, and I put a lot of effort into revising it. Its as polished as I can make it.
The final version of the Girl with the Red Hair was turned in this past Saturday, albeit a few minutes past the deadline. I don't think it'll matter.
Any dating prospects in the immediate future are pretty slim or nonexistent. DC Nightlife, here I come. I'll be going hiking with David and his friend next weekend, and possibly a number of downtown DC outings on that week between graduating and moving out. I wonder what it'll be like not having the axe of a Senior thesis hanging over my head. Or of graduating on (modified) time.
Well, that's that.
