A Day Without Rain

The shadowing today went well, thankfully. We covered Paradise Lost in British Literature (Awesome poem, that... just hell to get through) and I learned that I did rather well on my test, getting a 93. That is satisfactory, but I can raise it to a 96 if I write a poem in the style of John Donne or George Herbert. A love poem... Now where am I to get inspiration for something silly like that?

Philosophy class was held outside (A major plus, as the weather was absolutely gorgeous). Sometimes I feel it rather pointless to defend the institutions of religion because through men's works and words they have done so much harm to mankind. It seems every good thing that exists to guide and to provide life can be twisted into malign purposes. The Church is a good idea. Perhaps in the realization of that idea the flaw and the bureaucracy seeped in. Perhaps Vatican II and the future can promise gains... we can only wait and watch. Fundamentalist Christians give all Christians a bad name and create more enmity by their intolerance than they do good.

In the bad news, I did get a B+ on my Art History test... better than the C- I feared, but still worse than the A- I hoped for. If I can do extremely well on my museum assignment, which I was unable to complete this weekend past, I might manage an A-. That and do superbly on the next quiz and test. The quiz is next Tuesday... oh joy.

Bible class is tonight, the last one of the term. I'm looking forward to it, even if I could've used the time for studying. Time slips by, sometimes too quickly, others too slowly... Tomorrow awaits.
