you know, it is a DAAAAAAAMN shame that raj wasn't the one hit by a truck. hit 4 realz, ya know??
and OH.EM.GEEEEEE! that sceeeeeene! when kris "saw" adam hit by the truck! well, my heart was already in my throat, so of course i nearly swallowed it right back down!! niiiiiiiiiiiiice!!
your descriptions of adam's experiences in the crashed car. whoa. break my poor pathetic heart, why don't you?? those scenes were very sparing, but OH SO unnerving!! very well done.
1 minor nitpic-- where were adam's family members while he was missing/in hospital? oopsie!
also, in regard to the rating? not nc-17. really, the strongest imagery was kris' dream blowjob, and even that was pretty vague... i'd say it was BAAAAAARELY an r. pg-13 if not for all the cursing! ;-P
please understand, this is NOTNOTNOT criticism in ANY WAY. just a statement of fact about the rating. i thought the entire story (minus the missing family) was gorgeous. thank you for all your work! i truly look forward to your next entry!
(i'd give you a kiss right now, but i don't feel we're quite there yet. maybe next time?? xD)

Well, so, it wasn't actually an oversight that there were no family members at the hospital...or anywhere. I've never written about people who actually exist before, and I'm mildly freaked out about it. So my rationalization and the arrangement I made with myself was, first, to decide that people who we experience through the media are essentially fictionalizations anyway -- they're exaggerated and simplified versions of real people, which is basically what fictional characters are -- so in writing about media personalities, I'm not writing about real humans. Specious, huh? :) Second, I'm choosing to include only people who have willingly embraced a public persona, i.e., people who went on American Idol. At least those are my guidelines for this story. So this action takes place in an AU where the people are sadly relationless. :) Or maybe their family members are shuttle astronauts on assignment. Or spelunkers on a long exploration out of radio communication. If I wanted to include family members, I guess I could make up new ones.

As for the rating, you're probably right, but I figured better safe than sorry, and I don't have a clear picture of the guidelines.

Thanks so much for the kind words. It's really satisfying to know someone enjoyed it. :)
