The Past
This weekend, I was blessed enough to see an old (well she herself isn't 'old', just I have known her since I was two) and VERY dear dear friend of mine. Our time together was wonderful.She made me a cd with all these songs from our youth on it. I realized, very quickly, that this will be my 'go to' cd for when I am feeling sad, mad, blue, angry, etc. because it automatically put a smile in my face from the first song on.
It is very weird how music can transport you to a different time and place. Hearing songs that I haven't heard in forever automatically take me back to my childhood and high school like they were yesterday. I can remember the people, sights, smells, etc.
Weird and slightly surreal but nonetheless wonderful.
Consequently, everytime I hear certain songs I think of certain people. Everytime.
Especially songs that have been played out at clubs etc.
