Fuuma smiled politely behind his tinted glasses, wondering when the water master would remember that the Dark Kamui was capable of decapitating him where he stood.
Yuuto remained blissfully ignorant of Fuuma’s gritted teeth and clenched fists, shaking a teapot in his face. “So, Kamui. Fancy having tea with us today? Kanoe bought croquettes from a popular deli in Ginza.” He smiled, and Fuuma resisted the urge to punch him.
“I’m afraid not.” Fuuma’s baring of teeth was now more of a grimace than anything else. “I have an appointment to keep.”
“Oh, but I’ve been seeing you lounge around the Government building all day. Are you sure you don’t want to have just one cup?” The teapot was shoved forward again. Fuuma breathed in, and counted to ten. Slowly.
“No, no,” he ground out, surreptitiously glancing at his watch. “Any time now.”
“Are you sure?” Yuuto opened his mouth to speak again, and Fuuma swore he would smash that bloody teapot if the water master so much as lifted it again. “Because-“
What Yuuto intended to say was lost when the entire building trembled, shaking violently all the way down to its foundations in a terrible earthquake. Both men staggered, and the teapot was flung to the ground, shattering into pink porcelain shards submerged in cold green tea.
“Dear me,” sighed Yuuto when the quake finally died down. “There goes Kanoe’s best teapot.” He looked up. “It’s alright if you still want to have tea with us, though.”
Fuuma hastily made his escape, thankful to finally be able to take his leave. “Sorry, maybe another time, hmm?”
As he hurried out of the building into the fresh chaos that was Tokyo, Fuuma made a mental note to thank the Sakurazukamori for his perfect timing.
