I just got an email. I have been accepted to the Biomolecular Structure and Design PhD program at University of Washington, Seattle. The program director, David Baker (one of, if not THE the biggest badass in the world of protein folding) just emailed me. They only admit six to ten grad students every YEAR. I feel like I'm about to throw up. If I wasn't at work I'd be yelling and jumping up and down. BAHHHHHH! They're going to waive my tuition AND pay me a 23,000 / year stipend. They're flying me up there in March for an interview. The interview is more of a recruitment than anything else. Free trip to Seattle! I feel like this moment has been five years in the making. This is literally the biggest accomplishment I have ever made. The only thing that has a chance of beating that is acceptance to Stanford's biophysics program. Not sure which I want more yet...........BAHHHHHHHHH!
