I really adore Will and his rescues. And the sound design of this ridiculous show.
There it is. Will describing Hannibal's kill as art. I really adore these two. And Hannibal's little smirk when WIll delivers his line about the unidentified caller being the copycat. And the fact that Will appears to be looking right at him when he says it, even though that's not at all about him knowing or suspecting that person is Hannibal. But that smirk, further fueling my theory that Hannibal is grooming Will to be the person who could catch him. He wants a foil and thinks that Will could be that person. I think Hannibal is bored, but Will is not boring, just a little broken. I am a little in love with this theory and it will take a lot to dissuade me from it at the moment because I kind of adore what it says about male relationships. So I'm just going to be in love with it, even if it's an incorrect theory. I don't care. It's a pretty theory.
And I just rewound to watch it again, and with that way Will looks like he's looking at Hannibal, it kind of makes his whole speech and reveal a performance. Kind of for Hannibal. Which kind of makes the smirk also a pat on the head for Will. A 'good job' sort of thing. Which also feeds my grooming theory. And the whole thing, as everything else about them, so charged and erotic. Oh yes. This is going to be an obsession. It's men and their spaces, immaculate forests, serials, all my favorite theory head nonsense. I just want to live in this show.
I'm not going to tire of Jack referring to Hannibal as Will's keeper. Nor the way Hannibal watches Will when he talks about the way it feels to kill or inhabit the mind of a killer.
I love the feathered elk Will dreams about. It gives me such a Black Swan vibe.
I'm intrigued by this turn of events with Hannibal, how he's shown his hand to Abigail, roped her into a situation where he has something over her. So twisted that instead of just killing her he kind of creates another killer he can foster. And based on the previews for next week with the talk of pushing Will over the edge and alienation, I may have to amend my theory. Sometimes those previews are so misleading. But I like my theory so much! But then the "alienating" from the preview, doesn't negate a sort of grooming. Maybe it's a breaking to remake him. Whatever's happening, it's awesome.
