Kinkaid made an entrance into the ballroom. Not deliberately, but when she moved, with the cascade of attendants behind her, it was hard not to notice. She crossed over to Aspasia, with purpose in her steps.
What has brought this on?
“Prince Kinkaid.” She murmured in welcome.
“Can we speak for a few moments?”
With a nod, Aspasia leads her off to the ‘corridor’ that Dominion and the Amazon have jointly claimed as domain from Exodus for the weekend. A domain some 10 feet long and 5 feet in width.
“There is an issue with the Invictus.” Kinkaid opens with a simple statement, then goes on to detail how one LaGrange is caught between Scylla and Charybdis. She is committed to protecting the one who was bloodhunted by Exodus, Devontaine. And rumor holds it that he intends on coming to the Tulsa gathering.
The woman can not forego her oath, but she also feels in a measure deceived into promising her protection.
Ah, the mechanations of the Invictus. And their oaths. Oaths like this which bound my daughter to her death.
Aspasia murmurs, “If she is unable to prevent the sentence from being carried out?”
It becomes clear in the conversation, that LaGrange anticipates that would come to pass. That some other kindred would remove her from consideration. But, would like to see if that removal could be only temporary and not permanent. She will strive with all her skills to defend her ward, to do otherwise would not be honorable.
But, should she be overcome, arrangements can be made.
Kinkaid offers, if things to come to pass, to take the responsibility for the body of LaGrange, and see it is returned to her line, so they can care for the woman and see her restored to mobility. Aspasia offers for her part to speak with Exodus and further she will speak with the Gangrel as a clan about this, and ask them for assistance in fulfilling this agreement, should things result in a physical confrontation.
Kinkaid then introduces her to the woman and Aspasia takes pains to remember her appearance, while studying the body language. A warrior yes, and perhaps with an edge in some area due to powers of the blood, but she believes that there are ways to remove her from battle with the least harm possible. This can be done and with as much civility as possible, should things fall out as some fear.
For her part, the Amazon hopes the bloodhunted will simply choose not to trespass and help avoid any trouble from breaking out. It’s all a matter of common sense and if Devontaine has any or not.
