Windows 7 Starter is shit, make sure you never buy a netbook using it. It will lag and crash consistently within a few months of usage.
I am now running Jolicloud, a Ubuntu variant specifically designed with netbooks in mind. And it is AWESOME. I am so stunned at how user-friendly and lovely it is. The app-like install process made me nervous but it really works for netbooks and this thing is zippy quick now like my Windows 7 Starter OS wasn't even out of the box.
This just cinches it for me. I am a Linux user. I do not like Windows and will not attempt to run anything but Linux as my primary OS ever again.
