About time. If it's a crime, then it has to be handled that way - according to the rule of the law, and by going through all the necessary steps. Otherwise, hands off people's personal data.

Just simple common sense, really, but you can't always count upon it.
Besides, there's already enough info that gets leaked to "interested parties" as you surf around on the net, go shopping, or just plain walk down the street.
