What is Dungeons and Dragons?
By John Butterfield, Philip Parker and David Honigmann
• Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Coloring Album was a coloring book with a simple solo scenario by Gary Gygax in 1979.
• Combat Command was based on sci-fi/fantasy novels. They are more like solo wargames.
• Crossroads was based on fantasy/sci-fi novels. Rules are similar to Swordquest, which, in turn, are similar to D&D.
• Middle-Earth Quest was pulled shortly after three books were published due to a dispute with the Tolkien estate. They must have resolved their differences because the series continued afterwards. Originally Tolkien Quest.
• Narnia Solo Games was based on the Fantasy series by C.S. Lewis.
• One-On-One Adventure Gamebooks were created by TSR, always the innovator, which came up with these "solos for two". Each is comprised of two books as each person plays a character who is in direct competition to the other.
