Hi guys, it's Umi again! As I said in my last
post, Frederic was proposing to put on a musical play and I'm very thrilled to see the feedback I got. This post is to basically iron out the details for everyone and make things a little clearer.
-How will this work?-
From the 4th to the 10th (estimated dates since Frederic said in his
entry they'd need at least a week for all of this and as of right now, his entry is the only way to be involved ICly), Frederic will want to get the village together so everyone can begin working on everything for the musical play. That's set designs, costumes, writing/editing the script, auditioning actors, etc. and then by the 11th or 12th (again, estimated dates), the premiere of the play can begin in a massive log that will be posted. There will also afterward be a huge party for the cast, crew, and even the audience to attend to.
For the play and its after party, I'm looking at afternoon to early evening for the event in its entirety in regards to time. Frederic has already begun looking through various material for a play to use for the basis and I'm going towards fairytale stories for the setting such as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and etc. since I'd like this to be a Disney-ish type of musical with variations of different music styles mixed with spoken lines. For the location, I'm looking at the school gym since that place is pretty big.
-What will my character be doing?-
That depends upon what they'd like to do. They can either be apart of the cast/crew or simply be an attending audience member. Here is the list of jobs for those who wish to be apart of the cast/crew:
Set designer/builder: As the name implies, they will be painting, building, and designing the sets.
Costume designer: Designing the costumes for our actors to wear.
Actor/Actress: This is another as the name implies, your character will be acting in the play.
Catering: Help with preparing the food/drinks for everyone at the party. The head chef will be Sanji (with permission from Marie/Sanji-mun), but everyone else can help out with him.
Lighting/special effects/mechanics: This is for any special effects/lighting/mechanics we will need for the play.
Script writer/editor: Help with editing/writing the script for the actors/crew to use, this one is a little limited as I'd rather put it down to at least four people at the minimum.
Musician: You can't have a musical without the orchestra or chorus! Your character will be playing for the band/sing in the chorus essentially.
Assist directing: Help Frederic with directing our cast/crew. This one is a little limited as well, since I'd rather have two or three people doing it at the minimum.
Clean-up crew: This is another as the names implies, help with cleaning up after everything is done.
This is pretty much all the jobs that can be applied for and now onto the last parts.
-The final details-
This event is open to everyone, even to new feathers! I'd love if everyone could possibly be included as much as time allows them. I'm also aware some people are on hiatus, that is why I'm willing to adjust the times/dates for everyone. Hence I am going to put some questions on the post and a textarea box for people to use and submit their answers in a comment.
Question #1: Do you prefer the times/dates suggested or should they be pushed to a later date/time?
Question #2: Which job would you like your character to have specifically? Do you think they have the specialty skills to do the job?
Question #3: Do you agree or disagree with the suggested premise for the play?
Question #4: Do you have a specific fairytale story you'd like the play to be based on? (I may put up a poll for this one to get votes on what people want.)
Question #5: Are there any other questions or concerns you have?
