S'UP, LUCETI. Now that most of the newbies have (hopefully) settled in, I figured it was a good time to try another meme. HOLD UP, this one's a little different!

CR/PLOTTING MEMEIt's pretty simple. Put up a comment indicating the characters you want to get out more, and any other information you need. Then comment around to other people who have ( Read more... )

EXAMPLE?? ALSO FIRST. outwalks September 11 2010, 03:30:09 UTC
Name: Allen Walker
Description: Circus brat with a heart of gold turned malformed Exorcist. Allen is polite, hypocritical, idealistic to the extreme, and wants to save you. Yes, you. He gives as good as he gets, cheats a lot, and does not believe in God or hitsuzen.
Status: Hurrrrr. Not happy, Hiding It, feeling somewhat alone and hiding that too. Worried about the Fourteenth, stressed that New Feathers are happening again, a little tired since he's still doing things on his own.
Seeking: Smart-mouthed jerks! Tsunderes! People who are toppy, practical, impolite or realists! Morally grey villains! Basically anybody. . . ? In particular, I'm looking for a friend he can bicker and be a bit of a brat with from the get-go. Since. . . people he's polite to tend to be avoided when he's feeling sad or particularly dangerous, which isn't helpful. . . Uhhh, I like character disagreements! I like moral dissonance and calling or getting called on it. I am not the world's biggest fan of threading brawls, but Allen is a shounen protagonist so I expect them. :B I also like people topping Allen because it's funny when they can manage it. Somebody just punt him in the head, seriously, you'd kick out half my problems in one go.
Pings: Free food, demons, wanting help with anything, not wanting help with anything, philosophical questions, clowns-Allen doesn't really need a pings list. Your existence pings him.
Plots: N/A, so far, stuff pretty much comes up on its own. He is, however, free for rent when it comes to other people's plots.
Will Not Work With: Stoic types who go "hn" a lot. I can make conversation, but Allen will see that it is awkward. Unless he has extensive reason to continue to take an interest, he'll relegate them to the category of "person who doesn't want to be bothered" and keep his distance. Note that I am not unamenable to building CR if you have a Stoic Fellow in need of harassment-I'd just prefer to arrange cool meeting circumstances in such a case! So talk to me. :> Same goes for Polite But Aloof types-unless they are seriously troubled, Allen will not push and threads won't be all that rewarding.

Morally grey villains you say? (I almost wrote morally gay. wow self)

But saying that Grell is gay for morals is so inaccurate! He's equal opportunities gay.

I would totally be up for more threading, though! In voice. Where Allen can't squiggle the gender-based honorific. Grell confuses him. 8(

He's totes straight for guys, okay? He's a girl. So that makes him straight.

....sort of.

GAY FOR EVERYTHING. there.

\o/ Yay for more threading! Poor Allen, dealing with the girl-boys. :( Grell should like...fall on him one day. Really confuse him then.

Don't tell him that part, Grell, once he hears you speak, he'll just figure that you like to cross-dress. (Cross-nail-paint?) It's cool! He knows people who were into that. As long as he doesn't have to wear a dress, he isn't judging!

Out of curiosity-how's Grell dealing with the death god (and his dearest love, chainsaw murders) subject at the moment? Is he open about it or is he liable to just go a-hackin' someday?

:( It's not crossdressing if you're a girl!

And you're going into a dress, Allen. 8( YOU'RE GOING TO WEAR THE DRESS.

But uh, he's open about it with other supernatural beings and a few other people, but on the most part he's keeping it rather quiet. He's also being absolutely mum on the whole "Hi, I'm the other half of Jack the Ripper" thing since he doesn't want to get thrown out of the village. The people he's told depends on whether or not their morals swing his way.

DENIED.

Well, Allen obviously wouldn't work for that category. |D But he is remarkably strong-headed about not giving up on people. Until then, let's have many confused conversations about why you keep putting nail polish on, Grell!

DAMMIT.

And well, he might. If the subject of Death, God, or the Afterlife came up, Grell's views are pretty well fixed and he's had to admit why a few times. He's willing to tell people about it if the conversation swings that way.

UNTIL THEN, come get your nails done, Allen. :|

Allen has climbed trees before to get away from crazy people. He will do it again.

. . . why do I see this going badly. . . Yuber is so out of Allen's league.

On the other hand, if they ever fight and Yuber kills him, Allen won't hold a grudge! So at least he'd be consistently. . . less negative than most of Yuber's CR, I imagine. :|a

I'm not canon-familiar for him, though, and I haven't been stalking, so tell me what he's like in general interaction?

Yuber is a horrible troll who basically thinks that killing people is not only fine and dandy, but considers it a good thing to do. He will usually troll and taunt until someone attacks him and then attempt to kill them.

Despite his crazy, he is actually very intelligent and actually not bad at debating, it's just not easy to get him to wish to converse intelligently with a mere human. He definitely prefers stabbing humans to talking with them, but he'll do whatever because he's just seriously bored in this place.

And I admit I'm semi-canon blind for Allen, I only got through a few episodes of the anime and a few chapters of the manga. But the fact that he doesn't hold a grudge is nice!

I. . . cannot imagine playing a character that consistently bored! Wow.

Does he ever attack without his opponent attacking first? Because. . . Allen usually waits, too. |D And what gets him interested in a debate? Or, if that's too specific a question, what turns him off from debating?

Attention span of a gnat and over 300 years old sadly leads to boredom.

And actually, he has attacked without his opponent attacking first. Main reason why he waits is because he has very specific orders not to attack a non-combatant, so if he doesn't know the person, easiest way to see if they can fight or not is to taunt them into attacking.

But if he's able to see Allen fight first, he'd totally attack, so an easy way to do that is Yuber runs into someone while they are sparring or practicing. If he sees a weapon that would work, but I know enough about Allen to know he doesn't use weapons.

And as far as what gets him interested in a debate? Get him on the subject of chaos or killing. He also has an odd fascination with humans for all that he hates them. Topics that would definitely turn him off are things he completely can't understand, like discussing love, what kinds of foods are delicious (he has no need to eat), dreams, and stuff like that. He'll also be turned off if someone gets too close to the forbidden topic of his summoners (especially the current one) and will tend to change the subject if not outright lie to dodge it quickly. Show an interest in demons and he might actually start talking, he actually does enjoy bragging.

I know he's definitely quite different from the type of demon Allen encountered, though there are some interesting similarities too, that could be a very interesting hook to actually getting him to be civil.

Allen's actually been pretty close-mouthed about. . . everything to do with his world so far! Even though he responds to everyone else's talk of demons, because that's not obvious at all. But that seems to be the key for both of them, so I will see if I can work it into a post at some point. Interest should be solid after that-on Allen's part, at least, since he has problems giving up on killers.
