Personally, I'm leaning heavily in the "yes" direction, but am waiting and seeing myself. I'm seeing no signs that LJ is planning to rollback the changes, but frankly, there's a much different problem that's going on here.
Because do I think the new commenting system is a big step backwards? Yes. Would I have been willing to deal with it and adapt? Yes.
UNTIL I saw the comments that we'll just "get used to it" and that Igrick (Head of Livejournal Russia and one of the biggest supporters of the current changes, for those of you who are unaware) believes the complaints in his inbox were nothing more than "a great way to learn American swearwords". UNTIL I saw complaints and concerns being called "spam" and heard about some of those reporting bugs being called "liars." That's frankly why I want to leave, and if it weren't for the logistics and the potential of splitting the userbase, I would be wholeheartedly voting yes. Because in my opinion, staying in a situation where the staff treats players like shit is implying that you are okay with being treated that way. The damage to my trust has been done. Getting the old commenting style back isn't going to fix the real root of the problem here.
I'll follow Luceti. I feel like I'm starting to make some progress with CR and getting into the game. But if I had my preference, I'd rather be on a platform where the staff actually treats their users with respect. Maybe that's not a big deal to some people, but it is to me.
I very much agree with you on this. I was perfectly willing to wait and see yesterday and hope someone would release some scripts if LJ was unwilling to revert the changes. In fact, a preview button one has already been posted and I'm using that, so probably won't be long for one to add subject lines and fix the issues causing migraines in users.
But when Misa linked me to some of the crap igrick was saying about us, that changed my mind completely. LJ allowing that idiot to keep his job is basically saying that they support the comments he has made about the English speaking userbase and makes me feel very unwelcome. And it's not like his rudeness is a new thing, that has been going on since information about this leaked over to us. And it was absolutely pathetic that we were barely even informed of this in advance. So much for their promise to communicate with users with the last releases fuckup.
