To set the event right after Mu's plot would have still avoided the issue of there being two months in a row with nothing to do. That said the past year we lived throw a few months with no events or drafts, which was when people started with a lot of player posts and you guys yourself commented on how great that was. And we all survived those months.
You're right, the timing can't be right for everyone but with when it was announced (just a day before it started) and everything else it mostly sounds as if you guys didn't even bother to consider the timing, how squatters could use it to pass the ongoing AC or how it would clutter the month. I'm not saying that was the case, I know you guys consider those things a lot and seriously, but it's still the impression that is given which is why I'm mentioning it. No matter how great the mods are or a game setting is, if players get the impression that even something like a silly event without much transcendence is dealt in a rush and without care it gives a bad image of the game.

However, I do apologize that we didn't give more warning ahead of time. I usually like to give people plenty of heads up on these kind of things, but unfortunately this summer has left us mods busier than we usually are, so we dropped the ball on not getting an announcement post up sooner.

I see your point in wanting the event to be between those plots, theoretically it certainly is the best timing "let's take a break from serious stuff with something silly like this, go on have fun". I see that point and I agree, in fact I think it has been done before? Wasn't the bubble thoughts event done with a similar premise?
Admittedly maybe I'm wrong at saying this to you, the mods, but I feel that since you are the ones in charge you are the ones easiest to talk to and who can actually try to do something in future times for everything to be fine. And I know many people were fine with the event timing, or just don't care either way, so I don't expect you guys to go and pay me too much attention, still I wanted to voice it. Really, maybe the problem is that in theory it was the perfect timing but in practice it felt different?
Maybe it's just because of the short notice and if we had got a notice earlier that impression wouldn't be there in me. But it is and my point is... That in general, between a draft and a player plot like the one Mu has turned out to be, the general mood of the game felt stressed. Even the event posts felt gloomier to me than what they should have been given the circumstances. Many were still hanging for people's returns from death and others were looking forward for the Mu event and acting according to that so the event that should have lifted the mood ended feeling like a lame attempt for me. That combined with the AC going on and the knowledge that, though it also was a perfect help for many players who needed to make a post to make up for a character since it gave them an excuse and all, it also was a chance for anyone squatting to post, be fine and go back to squatting is what feels wrong with me.
I know that you have lives and issues too and aren't wizards who can know everything in the game and outside of it. But drafts and plots like Mu's one always have set a gloom mood in the game in general even in the periods in between those and even if ICly there shouldn't be a reason for it. So events at those times and on such short notice don't seem like the best idea. What I want to say is that at least, can you guys try to give a couple of days of warning next time? I know you usually always do so, but sometimes things mess up and it's impossible, but if that happens I would prefer a shorter event and have that notice with some time than a full length event.
