All right. Let's do this.

First up, I'm going to reference to the crit I left you on your personal HMD two months ago. I pointed out that you seem to have troubles balancing your characters. That Richard is very active, but the others are hardly ever around. I told you that slowatuses will keep coming and going, and that this is a trend I've noticed over the past half year. A trend which is getting worse. I suggested that unless you find a way to divide your activity between your characters, you should consider dropping one or two of them. From what I'd gotten of your response, you basically brushed the concerns off as nothing.

It's now two months later. You dropped Alan, but I'm sure you only went through with it because Lunare dropped Alice. You failed to reach the necessary activity with Regal and Arumat during the last AC. In fact, Regal didn't even have half of the necessary comments. LJ was down and you were sick, yes, but the LJ fail was only about a week out of the entire AC month. Richard had roughly four times the necessary comments, if not more, which proves you were around and tagging. Now you are once again considering applying for a new fifth character. You're promising to improve your activity, but that also isn't new. That's something you seem to say every time the HMD rolls around, but then something else comes up anyway.

Please, Luna. I am begging you to take a look at what you're doing, here. Please stop brushing concerns from your canonmates off. Take a step back and ask yourself: "Can I handle a new character? How will this affect my other characters? Am I still having fun playing Regal and Arumat?"

I'm not trying to force you into dropping. Quite the opposite. This is a decision you need to make for yourself and definitely something to work on. I would love to see your other characters around more, because lord knows I adore them, but at the moment I have an invisible castmate/fiancée and this is making me very uncomfortable. Something needs to be done and there are two paths for you to take, so be sure to choose wisely, all right? I'll support whichever decision you make. And if you want to discuss this in private, you know where to find me.

I admit, I was definitely struggling with Regal for a while there - the muse seemed to have up and just disappeared, and I was actually considering having him Mallynapped for a while after the event to see if some canon review would help wake him back up again. And then... he came back with a vengeance over the past couple of days and now I've been tagging way more with him than any of my others. I still plan on canon-reviewing for him, but I don't think I'll need to Mallynap him to do it because he seems to be doing okay muse-wise now. What I also need to do is find more things for him to DO so that I have reasons to get him out more, because he's quieter than Emil and Richard and not quite as social. He's actually discussing building a ship with Sokka at the moment, which I'm hoping will go somewhere and possibly end up involving a whole bunch of people. Also I hear there is a plan for certain people to burgle the bakery again while dressed in bear costumes.

As for Arumat, he sort of got stuck in invisible castmate limbo there, which made it tough to do things with him. Now that this isn't an issue, it should be a bit easier to get him out as well. (Or... try, at least, given how antisocial he is.)

Balance is definitely something I need to work on more. Emil and Richard end up getting the most attention because they're the loudest and easiest for me to tag with-- Regal and Arumat require more brainpower, and it's not that I don't have the time, it's just that sometimes I look at my flist and just don't have the energy to tag with those two even though I want to. I'm pursuing some avenues that will hopefully help with the health issues and make that less of a problem. In the meantime, though, I've set up my Gmail to filter tags by character so that I can actually see how many threads I have going for each character and know who I need to tag more with. With any luck, that will help me keep things more balanced because it will be a visual reminder of how my tags are spread out.

Well, the Gmail filter and canon reviews are definitely a step in the right direction, but you still seem to be missing the point a bit.

To shorten what would likely turn into tl;dr again: we're worried that if you app a fifth character again, you won't be able to keep up.

Your health will probably continue to be an issue for a while, if I understand correctly. And you do have a tendency of favoring certain characters, so if you pick up this Pandora Hearts character, what will happen to the other four? Won't this push Regal's muse, as well as the other three, down again? Alternatively, the new guy could go the same route as Alan, which wasn't a very happy one.

We're all hoping that you'll take some time to evaluate your playing style and find out how to best handle the characters you have now, before taking on more work. It's not that I want to stop you from apping that new character. Not at all. If you believe that you can handle it, then go for it. It's just that, personally, I'm worried it may not end very well.

Alan never really clicked in the setting for me from the very beginning... I wanted to make him work because I liked him as a character, but I should've dropped him long before I did. That was my mistake, trying to push something that clearly wasn't working. In his case it wasn't so much the number of characters as the fact that I was just having trouble with Alan in general. I don't think it will be a problem with a character who clicks well as long as I work out the whole balancing issue.
