Rating: PG-13
Had he figured it out? Matt thought he finally did. He hoped anyway. Prying at it hadn't worked. That left discovering the code that would make it open. The thing was, he didn't want to be alone when finally getting the choker off. It was bad enough being shocked. What if something else happened that was worse? He didn't want to go through all the possibilities his mind could come up with. Wasn't there a movie where a girl was always wearing a yellow ribbon around her neck? When it was removed... yeah. Sure, he'd already experienced death, but he would prefer to keep his head attached to the rest of himself.
L had said he was worried, going so far as to scold him. The detective was a good option. Mello.... Matt could see one potential scenario, one where he gets laughed at for being scared. That wasn't something he needed when he was hoping to keep a friend from dying for, what he believed would be, the first time. L was soft-spoken and less volatile, someone easier to handle while also dealing with a cold. The conclusion? He'd go to see L, despite the weather. The winds would also help distort the device's audio and visual. Instead of his normal attire, he wore pintucked jeans and a brown leather jacket over a black-and-purple striped shirt to better withstand the elements. The boots, gloves, and goggles were left alone.
Halfway there, he decided to start fiddling with entering the codes he thought may work.
