[Pao-lin is rather surprised at how nice the accommodations here are. Temporary, admittedly, but it's the nicest temporary place she's ever stayed in. Not that she's had much occasion to do such a thing

[He's not unused to seeing such a variety of weapons - at least not back at home. There's people like Tenten who pack everything plus a kitchen sink. They usually have a scroll or two for them, though.]

You gonna be able to move with all that when we get down there?

[Pao-lin experimentally tests her movement a little, with the scabbard for the butterfly swords at her waist and the nunchaku stored away in a pocket on each thigh, and other pockets containing whatever she could manage to fit in there -- mostly food and medical supplies. She's not used to their weight, but she'll have to manage.]

These should be fine, I think. And I can leave some things from my backpack at the base camp when we get there, before heading out into the rest of the mines. [It's a small one, but packed to the brim with things now that Pao-lin was able to make use of the item generator. She gestures to her Hero staff, which she's got slung on one shoulder in a holder-type thing.] To be honest, though, I'm not sure how good this'll be. But it was the first thing I asked for, and it seems like a waste to just leave it here, you know? I could always lend it to someone else if they need a weapon. [Normally she'd be very protective of her weapon, but since she can't bring it back to Luceti with her, she figures that it's no

[He's more worried about narrow tunnels, if they come across them. He nods though, examining the staff. He doesn't think she'd ask for it if she wasn't comfortable with it.]

I can see why you asked for it then. [The other weapons she's carrying make a lot of sense now too. Except the nunchucks unless they're also metal, in which case: yes, it all makes sense to him.]

If you don't want to leave it behind, I might have a better way of carrying it if you're interested.

That's so cool! Can anyone use one of those, or does it have to be someone from your world...?

You have to manipulate chakra to do it. It's something anyone in my world can do, but I'm not sure how it'd work with people from other worlds.

[He hasn't met anyone else who's been trained to utilize chakra like ninjas do, though sometimes he wonders. People from Katara's world use chi, which may very well be the same thing.]

[He's still just saying what needs to be said here, but for a moment Shikamaru's attitude of a soldier gives her. Chakra is a common concept at home, but not so much here. It's a refreshing change of pace talking about it with someone who's actually heard of it.]

It's the combination of a person's physical and mental energies.

Mmm...I only know about it because my caretaker goes to yoga, and apparently it's supposed to, um, realign your chakras or something. I know there's seven of them, at least in my world, but that's about it.
