DRAFT LOG #1: Preparations

Summary: The Draftees receive a brief moment of Malnosso hospitality before being sent off to fight.

[Rogue has a couple of stops to go on this thing. First to her room, where she will request the necessary supplies for survival and whatever handy other little gizmos she can think of that the Malnosso can make that she can fit into the metal-free utility belt she's making a part of her X-Uniform.

And then she is going to be requesting a lot of Big Damn Guns. She is not exactly sure which kind will be best - she's going to take the best handgun she knows, of course, but for her main assault weapon? She's thinking something lightning-or-energy based, because bullets would make an impact against the wall, but maybe lightning would disburse better?

Anyway, she's heard this place has a shooting range of sorts, so she's going to go try to check that out. If not, there's a hanger. She'll just go shoot at the wall down there with her various guns and examine the damage to it and gauge her effectiveness with the Big Damn Duffle Bag of Guns.

If all goes according to schedule, then after that she'll swing by the rooms of those she knows (except, probably, Gambit). Feel free to bump into her anywhere!]

[ There seems to be something pokerfaced about Ange no matter the situation - and the same still holds up, even today. So while she's walking down a hallway with that same expression as ever, she happens to spot Rogue and.. well, she recognizes her, so for a moment she stops. ]

... Hey. [ somewhat casual. ] We talked a few times before, right?

[touchofrogue]

[The girl in the journals with sense! Rogue recognizes her as well and nods.]

Hey. Ange, right?

[repudiationist]

Yeah, that's right. [ she nods back. ]

So you got dragged into this whole mess too, huh?

[touchofrogue]

[A nod. She doesn't... know much of anything about Ange's abilities, or what she's done in her own world, so Rogue will actually be concerned for the other girl's well-being here.]

Take two. [And a guardedly concerned and assessing look.] What about you? Been pulled onto the draft before?

[repudiationist]

No, this is my first time. I guess I got lucky up to now, or maybe the Malnosso really like me.

[ she might notice the other girl's worried look, but maybe she's just ignoring it, considering how casually she's saying all of it. ]

[touchofrogue]

[And just so Rogue knows her relative responsibilities here... she'll actually be blunt this once.]

Have you done anythin' like this where you're from?

[repudiationist]

... If you mean 'anything like this' as in fighting in a war, no, I haven't. [ Ange is actually being honest in return for the bluntness too, even if she's still keeping up her pokerface. ]

I've fought before in general though. Practically spent the last weeks of my life back home constantly on the run.

[touchofrogue]

Runnin's not a bad thing ta do if it comes to it. Are you plannin' on goin' out or manning defense?

[repudiationist]

Defense, mostly. It's originally since I don't care enough about the Malnosso to fight that much for them, but.. there's someone I want to protect too now, so I don't want to go too far away.

[touchofrogue]

[A nod.]

Good. They'll need defenders. [She offers Ange a small smile.] Good luck.

[Keeping whoever you want - and yourself - safe.]

Thanks. ... I'll try. [ She doesn't exactly smile - when does she smile - but there's a nod all the same, and it does seem a little friendly. ]

[Vash was on the look out for friends. While seeing a gun or two with friends he's never seen with a gun before doesn't really surprise him that much. It's when they seem to have become a collector of them does it surprise him.]

Wow... that's a lot of guns.

[touchofrogue]

[She is on her way to testing them at this time, so she just hefts up the Duffel bag. Here, Vash, have a better view.]

Yup.

[.../sob, she is so friendly. But considering their last conversation before a draft, she may be understandably wary.]

[Vash remembers that and it makes him just a little hesitant, but he can't stay quiet.]

A lot of different kinds too. Do you know how to use them all?

The mechanics are similar. [She shrugs.] I'm gonna go try 'em out.
