Who: Everyone!
What: The final day. Moonfall. Twenty-Four hours remain. How do you spend it?
When: The 30th, all day
Where: Anywhere
Summary: The last day. The end has come. The moon is coming down and piercing the barrier. Nothing can stop it.
Rating: It will vary.
(
Let the world around us fall apart / baby we can make it if we're heart to heart )
But everyone else was helping. A lot of people were using their own power to try to slow or stop the moon, and he'd be damned if he won't help.
He stares up for a while, a worried frown etched on his face. He won't deny that he's scared: the moon was impossibly close now, and that face was staring down at all of them... That awful face that seemed more like a cringe than anything. The ground shakes beneath him, and it's as he nearly loses his balance that he realizes he should start now.
If he can't destroy it, then maybe he can move it, or at least make it slow to a stop while everyone else beats it back. After all, he was able to do so with the crust of his own world ( ... )

Nephry might have passed right by building two if she hadn't felt like it would be a good idea to look up at it. It, and the moon's leering face. She shudders, shaking her head and catching moving light out of the corner of her eye.
Someone was up there. She squints, trying to make out the figure...and it might just be someone she recognizes.
It takes her only a minute or two to run into the building and up to the roof. She's out of breath when she makes it that far, but there's no time for that, is there? Especially once she confirms the identity of that source of light.]

He forces his eyes open and looks up again, stretching his fingers slightly in an effort to stop their shaking.]
Nephry, get out of here!

[If she didn't know about what could happen to him, she might not be so desperate to stop him now.]

[It needs to work. It needs to work. Luke can't let everyone here die. He can't. He can't. It - It doesn't matter if he exhausts himself too much; if his power with everyone else can at least stop the moon's descent...]

Please listen to reason. No one will blame you for this.

[Whereas he isn't sure if Nephry has seen any form of him sound so panicked, yet driven. He ducks his head, plants his feet and squares his shoulders as if to keep himself up; with the moon still moving against his hyperresonance, it's as if he's trying to hold up tons of weight. He can't - He has to - ]
They can't just want to kill us! They've been needing us all this time and now - why?!

[She keeps her voice calm and even despite the leering moon.]
Luke, if you panic, nothing good will come of it.

[He grits his teeth and squeezes his eyes shut again, and he ends up falling to one knee, though he still keeps his hands up.]
Maybe they - want us to stop it... gnngh!

She'll walk right over and grab his wrists instead.]
Not at the expense of your life.

All he can do now is try to reign in his power and gain control once more, though he tries to look over his shoulder a little to see what happened to her.]
Nephry!

The burst throws Nephry about as far across the roof from him as she can go, landing hard on a shoulder and rolling once or twice. When she comes to a stop, she'll just...lie there, still, for several minutes. She's never been punched in the stomach before (recently she's been kicked there), but she imagines that is what it feels like. If the fist were the size of a large dog.]

Still, as soon as he feels like he can move again, he stands - and staggers, as the world suddenly went off balance again, but then makes his way to Nephry. Oh god please still be alive please -]

L-Luke... [Is that her voice? It sounds terrible. Nephry tries to ignore the feeling of her whole body on fire and at least push herself to sitting.]

A... Are you okay? I'm sorry...

I'll be all right. [It still hurts. But is that his fault? She interrupted him, and it isn't as though he intended any harm to her.] Are you?
