Summary: Archie wanted to show Buffy one of the ships he served on. Buffy wanted to show Archie Sunnydale. So that's what they do. Even though the ship Buffy brought up wasn't really the one Archie wanted to show her.
Rating: Ummm, considering their canons and the fact that we're exploring memories there, I imagine discussions will get heavy. I mean, it's Buffy.
When Archie said he wanted to show Buffy one of the ships he served on, this one wasn't the one he was thinking of. Actually, this was the second-to-last one he was thinking of. Justinian held some of his worst memories, but undeniably some of the good ones as well. He'd met Horatio here. As he stood blinking at the swaying deck, he was struck by how very similar it was. He couldn't spot any details that seemed off--it had been nearly a decade since he'd set foot on this deck, after all, so his memory wasn't perfect. But there she was, with all seventy-four of her guns, a Channel-groper with a dying captain.
"Welcome to Purgatory," he said softly.
