A simple message, privately left in the journals under the name "Jack Sparrow," which Vincent only knows because Gil has bemoaned the loss of his hat to this man more than once. It's taken too long, really, for things to come to this point. But since Vincent has adopted the role of a sweet child, why not use that mask to his advantage? And the timing is deliberate--although Vincent has no way of knowing in advance, the recent loss of one who seems to be a close friend will only make this easier. What better than such a departure to make someone want to hold their friends and pets all the closer?
Certainly this Sparrow is no stranger to ransoms, just as Vincent is not one to manipulation. So "she" waits with sugar and secrets, relying on a thief's greed to ensure he accepts the invitation.
