Draft Log #2: During

Summary: It is a good day. You're out on the open ocean enjoying the salty sea breeze, and suddenly- OH SNAP, BATTLE STATIONS...
Rating: Various! PG for violence at the least.

Probably both days? I requested that Giles was on Ship B

[During the day, Giles doesn't wander far from the cannons, although he'll use his journal to keep in touch with allies and friends on the other ships. It won't be very often that he ventures over to the other boats during the day, although it might happen. You never know. At night, however...whenever there appears to be a lull...he'll use whatever means are provided to stop in at the other battleship and the cargo ship, especially if assistance is needed tending to the injured.

Whenever battle looms? He'll be operating one of the battleship's cannons, taking aim and firing at the Third Party ships in the hopes of getting them to land in the water. If hand to hand fighting becomes necessary, he'll be on deck to do so.]

Day 1?

[At some point during one of the quieter moments, Grune will head over to visit Giles at his battle station. Whether that moment stays quiet, however, remains to be seen.]

Hello, Giles! Do you need a gel?

Day 1!

[Giles looks round from where he'd been staring distantly up at the night sky. His welcoming smile is a little dazed...partially explained by the bandage around his head...and truth be told his ears are still ringing from the evening's round of fire.]

A what? Oh, um, a gel?

...that would be very nice, Grune, thank you.

You're welcome!

[She sets down her urn on the deck and reaches inside. A moment later, she comes up with a Lemon Gel.]

Here you go.

[Giles takes it with murmured thanks and puts it into his mouth. He chews, feeling the sharp flavor chase some of the daze away. When he finally swallows, he looks a little more alert and the bandage is a little less necessary.]

How are you feeling so far?

[lostinmyway]

Oh, I'm doing very well. [She's more or less speaking the truth. Between her friends and her own skill, she's come off quite lightly compared to some of the others involved in the fighting.]

Are you feeling better now?

[consultmybooks]

I'm getting there. It's been a long day. [He does give her a quick once over to ensure that she is speaking the truth, and appears satisfied that, basically, she is.]

...probably going to be a long day tomorrow, actually. Are you going to get any rest tonight?

Hmm. I think so. It's important to get a good night's sleep so you can do your best tomorrow, too.

Yes, it certainly is. So be sure that you don't stay up too much longer, Grune.

I won't. You make sure you get lots of rest, too.

I will, Grune. Promise. After all, we're going to be making land in a couple of days. Seeing somewhere entirely new.

...I'm a bit excited, actually.

Oh, aren't we? That sounds like so much fun!

I wonder what the new place is going to look like.

I haven't the faintest idea - I've never actually seen outside the barrier before. The last time I was allowed out to fight, I couldn't see much of anything.

Was it very dark the last time?

[consultmybooks]

I suppose it might have been. The rain forest was, um, terribly thick and overgrown.

But more to the point, I was blind at the time.

Oh, my. [With Giles' sight returning at the point at which they first met, Grune actually hadn't noticed his impairment.] That must have been a little difficult.
