[Frederic couldn't believe his eyes when he arrives at this place, it was so large and something he was not use to before. It felt rather exciting and yet some part of him wished he could spent this time with others, namely Helios, Giles, and Poland. Perhaps as he was traveling around the park, he'd find some people who would help him have some fun.]

[Ginia gives a warm smile and a friendly wave as she spots Frederic on the fairgrounds, coming over to say hi her cellphone already coming out to type up a message.]

Hi, Frederic! How are you today?

Sure!

[Frederic smiles back for Ginia, it was good to see she was feeling better.]

Hello Miss Ginia, I'm doing...quite well. Are you feeling better than we last spoke?

[shadedsunlight]

I am. I think being out and about has helped my mood and this fair is really quite wonderful.

[Her grin sobers slightly, knowing things would be better if Helios hadn't been kidnapped just days before. It was one of the reasons Ginia had dragged Giles out to the fair, keep him from worrying too much about him and everyone else.]

He'll be back.

Thank you for the reassurance Miss Ginia, I am truly trying my hardest to be cheerful for Helios when he returns.

I think we all are, but I think he'd want you to enjoy yourself too.

[Her smile softens as she gently gestures around.]

Care for company?

I could see him now going on about how I should try having a bit more fun and then promptly drag me to the nearest place with sweets. He always wants me to be more cheerful and smile, so I think today I'm going to try and be happier for him. [He nods at her.] I'd care for that very much.

[Ginia nods and smiles in agreement. Helios would probably want Frederic to be happy for himself, but Ginia has since learned her lesson in offering unsolicited advice.]

How about we do as he would and get some sweets?

[Frederic nods and walks with Ginia as they continue talking.]

I do hope they have something with gingerbread since I favor that most, though Helios and Giles have been wanting me to try different types of sweets.

There's nothing wrong with having favorites. Gingerbread is wonderful. I hope they have salt water taffy, it's always been one of my favorite snacks and perfect for an amusement park. All the deliciousness without any of the mess.

[There's a hint of curiosity in his voice.] Salt water taffy? What is that?

[Oh, Frederic, prepare to be educated.]

It's a type of pulled candy made primarily from sugar, corn syrup, flavoring, and a few other things. It's made by heating together all the ingredients, then placing it on a machine that pulls the candy into long ropes, then folding it back onto itself before pulling it again. After it's done, it's cut down into bite-sized pieces and wrapped. It's really good!

[He takes note of everything Ginia says, but brings up one question he has on his mind.]

You said it is made of all those ingredients, but I am curious. The name is salt water taffy, yes? Why is there no salt water in it?

Good question. There is water and a bit of salt, but there isn't salt water or sea water. There's a legend about the origin is a candy store owner's store was flooded by a storm and all his taffy gets soaked with sea water. A girl later comes into the store and asks for taffy and he replies all he has is "salt water taffy" as a joke. The girl buys it, shows it to all her friends - since it's something new and different - and it becomes a big hit.

I did not know even treats could have origins or legends behind them, that is very fascinating.

If you think about it, everything had to start from somewhere. Some creative idea from someone's mind.

[They arrive at a stand filled with candy, baked goods, and all the types of sweets from around all the worlds anyone could ever ask for. It's marvelous. It's wonderful. It's a confectionery heaven.

If only Helios could see it.]
