The full moon was hidden behind the clouds as snow fell on Luceti, but Yue could still feel its gentle pull nonetheless. That alone would have driven him to waking, sliding out from the hidden corner of Yukito's mind in which he slept while his false form moved and lived, but this night it was also prompted by an unusual restlessness, an uneasiness that wouldn't let him simply close his eyes and dream in silence. It took especial care to slide free of the bed without disturbing Touya but he managed, slipping silently from the bedroom and out into the house proper.
Instead of continuing outside into the darkness, however, he chose to stay in the living room; he left the lights off, opening the curtains wide and building up the fire before settling onto the rug in front of the fireplace. It reminded him of what had once been, times past in which he'd done much the same (at least until he was disturbed by his more active sibling).
Though he tried to focus on the words of the book before him Yue found his thoughts prone to wandering, his attention drifting toward the snowstorm just beyond the windows. Was it fair to be... envious of Yukito? For if he were to be honest, he was indeed, envious of the one who had so subtly crept his way into the guardian's heart where he'd allowed none for so long. And yet why would Touya ever look at him when he had Yukito?
His thoughts chased themselves in circles for some time until, half-hypnotized by the falling snow and lulled by the comfortable warmth of the fire, he drifted off to sleep with the book still sitting open before him, one hand holding his place.
