[Sokka is just nomming on some of that ripened fruit right now. Is it just him or are there just a lot of pretty girls, today? After such a turbulent week, he's feeling a whole hell of a lot better now. This? This is good.]

[slaying]

Sokka!

[ and a smile and a wave and it's your too old soulmate friend buffy summers. ] Kinda gorgeous, huh? This tree?

[Now that's a friendly face. He could use one of those. It puts a smile on his face. A really, really big smile.]

Hey Buffy! [Turning to look up at the branches.] Yeah, it's amazing. I don't think I've seen anything like this before.

[slaying]

[ working off the unripe fruit at the moment, buffy finds herself feeling particularly...well, not protective of sokka; however, she gets the distinct impression that he is more-so one of her own. like the girls in scotland. a someone to be cared for and shaped and taught and loved in that funky mentorship way. ]

Ditto. And I've seen a lot. You, uhm...how're things? Good? [ a kind of hoveringly concerned question. ]

[Having a bit of both fruit, he sees Buffy as sort of a cool aunt. But one that isn't quite related and is actually very fine looking.]

Just fine. This fruit is great. [He's filled his bag up with the red ones, which are the best. He pulls another one out.] You had any?

[slaying]

I've had some of the pink ones. Tartish. They've got, y'know, oomph. Seriously though, I wonder what these things are even called. I've never seen them before.

[ who cares about personal space? buffy rarely does even on a normal day, so she is stepping close and eying up his haul. ] Stocking up?

[markofthewise]

They're not from my world, either. But I'm getting some for Momo. [And maybe some just for later. Seeing as she's coming closer, he pulls out a knife, preparing to cut it.]

You should try the ripe ones. They're way better.

[slaying]

I should, should I? Alright. Fruit me up.

[ she'll hold a hand out for a slice now. ]

[markofthewise]

[He cuts her off a half and hands it off.]

Try just sucking the juice out. It's better that way. [Apparently this is Sokka's line.]

[slaying]

Like with orange slices. [ she examines the fruit. ] Not that these are oranges, just...that's what I'd do. Suck the juice out and leave the icky pulp and seeds stuff behind. Maybe a waste, but...[ she trails off to take an experimental nibble of the redder fruit. ]

[markofthewise]

The pulp isn't icky. [Gosh Buffy, he thought he KNEW YOU. If only you didn't look so sexy fascinating nibbling on the fruit, he might object more.]

[slaying]

It totally gets stuck in your teeth, though.

[ oh. this fruit is actually really good. yum. ]

[markofthewise]

So? [Sokka says this as he uses that same knife to start picking at his teeth.]

So, not all of us cut a fine figure doing our dentistry with...uhm, knives.

[ she smudges some fruit juice off the corner of her lips with her thumb. ] But you're right? These? Much better.

[markofthewise]

[He shrugs and cleans the knife off on his sleeve before sliding it back into place.]

I just hope they start putting these in the store.

[slaying]

[ she tosses a friendly arm over sokka's shoulder. ]

I don't know -- maybe they're only ripe right around now?
