Who: Katara and Sanji
What: Follow up to
this,
this, and
this.
When: Wednesday afternoon, when Katara should be in school.
Where: Straw Hat House and along the river.
Summary: Everything's fixable with duct tape! A conversation of pain, friendship, and - hopefully - trust.
Rating: PG for Sanji's cussing and emotional trauma.
This may be one of the hardest things she's ever done - it certainly feels like it. And as Katara approaches the Straw Hat home, she's just hoping she made the right choice.
But when it comes right down to it, there have been a couple of key differences between what's happened with Sanji and what happened to her before -- and she is not so much of a coward as to be unable to face them. Figuring out what they were didn't come on her own - it took a couple of conversations and a lot of staring at her darkened ceiling.
But she did face them, and she sorted through them, and so Katara has made a decision. It's a hard one, and not completely without qualification, but she wouldn't be doing it if she didn't feel that it was the right thing. She just... really, really hopes she's right.
There's only one way to find out. And in order to do that she has to swallow back the stone in her throat and knock on the Straw Hat's door.
...it's not a very imposing door from the outset. It even has a nice wooden knot in it. Pleasant color. Complete with doorknob! An unassuming door in every--
Screw this.
Katara straightens her shoulders and reaches out to knock on the door.
Knock, knock, knock. Is anybody home?
