[Locked Transmission to Residents]

Mar 27, 2011 15:19

[The following transmission begins both typed and dictated.]

Today is March 27, year four of this Luceti Project experiment cycle. My name is Albert Silverberg, and I am a fellow resident. I am transmitting over a secure system previously taken from the Organization and modified to specifically filter transmissions to Luceti residents' journals; the Malnosso Organization and its CEO cannot hear or see what I am reporting.

Previous reports can only be viewed from the journals of residents who were present at that time, unless they are referenced in another of these reports. Attempting to link these reports across the network will only alert the Organization that we have access to information that they cannot see. Refrain from making references to these reports over the journals.

All newcomers and long-time residents should regularly review the guide to Luceti, written and maintained by Professor Raine Sage. You may be able to find answers to your questions simply by perusing the guide. Many residents will also gladly answer questions about this world that you cannot immediately find in the guide.

There is information in these reports that should not be spoken of over the journals; knowledge is a precious commodity in Luceti, and we may lose the advantage of allies if the Malnosso Organization becomes aware of a few things we know.

An experiment appears to have just begun, so--

[The typing stops, and Albert stops speaking. There is the sound of something falling over and a loud childish gasp. Then silence for a long moment. When there is movement again, the microphone is shut off and a link is posted.]

( Information from previous transmission - January, Cycle Year 4 )

[The rest of the transmission is typed.]

February, Cycle Year 4

February saw the return of an annual experiment based on the manipulation of emotions -- based around romantic holidays such as "Valentine's Day" and "Dragobete." Unlike previous years, memories of past versions of the experiment were blocked, making residents more susceptible to triggering the experiment's effects. A "Venarian Willow Tree" appeared on day during the experiment, further affecting residents who ate the fruit from its branches.

Another draft occurred at the end of February, calling for the largest amount of draftees--combatants and noncombatants alike--since the Organization began recruiting us for battles. The battlefield was the vast farmlands used to feed Malnosso-protected enclosures, including Luceti. A new type of Third Party soldier, known as a Shifter, made its first appearance to us during this battle. These Shifters showed more prowess with Shifting than previous soldiers, able to induce effects similar to what we have seen during experiments. Their most dangerous ability allowed them to neutralize combatants' powers or technology within a range of 100 meters. Our forces were able to stop the Third Party soldiers from accomplishing their goal of completely destroying the farmlands.

That is all for this transmission. Thank you.

[He doesn't invite questions this time. Not while he's in this state of disarray. He has to get out of here. ...So if there are any questions, they will be answered later in the day.]
