[Locked Transmission to Residents]

Aug 14, 2009 23:10

Today is August 15. In the past, we have calculated the New Feather cycle as approximately 15 days, with the first day aligning with the beginning of each month. This past month has been unusual with the influx of New Feathers, and then the notable lack this month ( Read more... )

In regards to the current situation, do we even know what has entered the barrier? Are they spirits, monsters, humanoids or something else entirely?

ANI can't provide us any details, since we lack the 'authorization' to access that information. Unfortunate, but if nothing else, we've grown skilled with adapting to the situation.

Well, the fact that ANI gave us the advice to be wary of "strangers" implies that the threat is humanoid. But what would they want to do inside the village? Will they attempt to end our lives, or would they have another purpose? As it's already been established that the barrier exists for our own good, they might try to break it from the inside. That way, they could either send in reinforcements or we would be subjected to a much bigger threat, similar to what happened a few months ago when the barrier cracked.

Considering ANI has told us that the breach has already been repaired, the Malnosso would already be paying attention to where the intruders primarily entered.

If ANI has suggested that the possibility exists for the intruders to interact with residents, and your idea of them breaking the barrier is in fact their objective, then the intruders would likely be heading for the tunnels.

A question about the current situation. Do we know anything of these strangers? Your advice may be sound, but without knowing more of what is considered a stranger, that could easily result in potential problems just from not knowing a new arrival, or a new arrival not having yet met all of those who reside here.

And lastly, if one wishes to assist with this situation but is not yet a member of one of these groups, is there some way to do so?

We know nothing about these strangers save that they are intruders, they likely come from outside of the barrier, and their numbers and powers are unknown. Under the circumstances, I doubt we will be allowed contact with the intruders without being alerted of their imminent arrival; since ANI is constantly observing, she would be able to tell us.

ANI seems to be under the impression the intruders may try to harm us. Alert others if you run into aggressive strangers.

Speak with me or Sir Sigmund, preferably in person. That would be the best way to hold a conversation about helping out.

Understood then. Is there a place where I can meet with you or Sir Sigmund?

Sir Sigmund is in house #23 and I am in house #42 if you wish to use the houses as initial meeting points.

What do we know about these intruders?

Not much. We do know that they had the technology or power necessary to breach the barrier, and will likely still have that with them while they are here. There are multiple intruders, though we don't know what their capacity for battle is.

But if the Malnosso thought the intruders would imminently 'disturb their experiment,' we likely would have heard something from them. They don't seem to take well to outside interferences.

I see.

Do you know if we'd be able to tell the difference between these intruders and other New Feather? They wouldn't have wings, right?

It seems the incident in May affected the entire world, not just inside the barrier. If those outside of the barrier were affected like we were, then it may be implied that they have wings, too.

Since you are a New Feather, I would suggest remaining near residents who have been here longer; they should be able to help recognize more people than you would at this point.

By New Feathers, you mean new arrivals? Like me?

This is a little confusing, probably because I haven't been here for long... but are the spirits you speak of similar to mana?

That's correct. It's a term that's been around here for awhile. "New Feathers" are usually those who arrived within the last month or two.

You may wish to ask someone more familiar with what "mana" is. For what it is worth, no one I have spoken to has found the spirits as anything native to their own worlds.

Oh, I see.

Mana are spirits of elements. I thought all worlds would have them. Otherwise what would govern things like water, and air?

I believe some other worlds have referred to "fonons" and "aer" to explain the elements in their own world. Others don't seem to have specific bodies that control the flow of the elements at all.

Oh~ How curious! What is known about what brought us here, then?

It has been around for longer than the Malnosso Organization has been, since it is what keeps them from returning to their own homes. Nothing else is known; we do not know where it initially deposits us before we are taken in by the Malnosso, we do not know why it does what it does.
