It's getting to be that time again, so an update to this log should be done. For those who have been here long enough to know of this system, I will be summing up previous posts. Because of the way this system is set up, referencing and archiving these posts through normal journal communication is impossible ( Read more... )

It's a lot to take in, understandably.

Correct. We still have no idea how large the Malnosso Organization is, and thus just how many people observe us.

At this time, we really can't say. But if the Malnosso Organization's reaction to the possessions is any clue, they have faced the issue before and likely saw no other way to deal with the problem.

I have been told that the incident ten months ago was also the result of Shifting and the barrier failing. Since it was confirmed that the possession incident affected the entire world we are in, and that it wasn't simply contained to those in the barrier, we can infer that spirit possession isn't always a danger.

The question lies in the fact that the Malnosso have faced problems with the spirits before, and that the spirits reacted to a Shift -- or the barrier allowing a Shift's effects in. If they react to many different Shifts in the same way, they would present a constant threat to the Malnosso's experiments.

It's a calculated risk at best. We only have our one experience to use as an example, but contacting the spirits seems to have no connection to whether they possess people or not. Some New Feathers were affected without ever having contacted the spirits, while others who have were not.

...Huh. [...He wants to throw something out on one hand, but he doesn't on every other hand. He also feels like he should say something, but he's not sure what. Still, now he's...]

What do you make that alien a while back?

I'm afraid it wasn't around long enough to form a reasonable opinion on its actions. It arrived with little fanfare, but the lack of reaction from the Malnosso is suspicious.

Yeah. It's weird; I mean the thing supposedly made it through the barrier and all. Plus the thing said it caused the meteor shower to someone or another. [...No this kid was not following it the entire time]

Kinda makes a guy feel like a freakshow, when you break it down like that.

It'd be nice if they could all watch each other instead, give us time to find some way out of here. I mean, how come we're the only ones they've got their eye on? What makes us different?

...You don't have to answer that, just so you know.

You would be surprised how easy it is to imagine Luceti as a universal zoo. It is a frustrating situation.

Well met, friend Albert. Your update has proven quite illuminating on many levels. Hopefully this brings the philosophers among us closer to discovering some ultimate escape, or perhaps an open path toward diplomacy.

Though our potential for escape continues to seem clouded at best, it is comforting to see even the faintest of progress made. Godspeed your efforts.

Thank you. Your well wishes are appreciated. There are of course others who gather the information written here; we would not know what we do if only one or two of us were asking questions at every opportunity.
