(no subject)

Okay so... I was inspired into this by Batty and some other very bad people egging me on for it. If you don't understand it... uh, well, that might make sense, but this is a fic that I'll just said right off is currently set five years in the future for Luceti. It's told in alternating first person (recording journal conversations) and third person action. I hope you enjoy it! ...actually idk, it's kinda weird.

But I like it. I think I'm going to write more for this setting even. So, here we go:

- - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomorrow the first day of school!! I'm really, really excited.
I hope I can learn new things.
Sophie's been going to school for a long time now, but now I can too! I'll show her who's smarter! Mama sumt totally says that Sophie's dad was an idiot so I won't lose!
I've never seen Sophie's dad though... she says she can't reme- think what he looks like
Last time we raced she only won because I got distracted!

Mommy says that Mama is an idiot too sometimes...

But Mama knows best! I'm going to really impress the prafe- um. teacher!
--Sam!!!

He was now five years old. The boy, Samuel - called Sam by most - could not be more excited to be heading to his first day of school. While he already knew most of his classmates-to-be as a result of playing around town, the idea of learning the concept of having new ways to show that he was better than a lot of his friends was something that he would never pass up. After all, his Mama always spoke highly of school. Mommy didn't say nearly as much about the subject, but he knew that she was proud of him for being so excited about it too. In fact, last night has had boasted to the whole village on the journals. A lot of people told him to shut up, but some nice people like Elicia, the Professor, and some of Mama's friends told him that he had the right attitude! Last night he almost didn't get to sleep, but eventually he passed out. He did, however, get up very early, eager as he was to get there before the other students.

As was becoming the case more and more recently though, despite his excitement, Mommy didn't wake up in time, and Mama was forced to wake her up. Sam, getting impatient with both of them, left while they started to argue. He was used to them arguing, but they usually got all mushy afterwards, so it was okay. Or at least, that's what Uncle Kei had told him. Anyway, he knew Mama would yell at him later for sneaking out, but no way was he going to be late on his first day! Besides, he was five years old, he could look after himself!

As he blazed through town, he was surprised at how many people were donning winter coats. Sure it was fall, but it wasn't even cold yet! He was still walking around in a T-shirt. But, for some reason, everyone - even Mama - got colder than he did. He never thought about that too much though other than finding it weird to see so many people in coats already. One such person, another boy only a little older than him, was ahead of him.

Sam smiled and raced on over to the other boy, waving excitedly. "Hey, TK! You better hurry or you'll be late!!"

The other boy turned, clearly perplexed to see his friend out and about this early, but... "I think we'll be okay..."

Sam shook his head here, racing on past the other boy. He was laughing, because he was going to win this race to school! Yeah, the minute he had gone past the other boy, it was decided that it was going to be a race! And if Takeru was too dumfounded to know that was the case, well then that was his problem. Thus, leaving the older boy in the dust, Sam quickly arrived at the school.

However, to his surprise, there was someone waiting for him at the door. A girl learning against the door of the building with snow white hair and a very irked looking expression on her face. His eternal foe! Sam tensed up immediately, and pointed an accusatory finger at the slightly older girl.

"What're you doing here?!"

"I knew you'd come early." The girl offered in bland reply.

Had Sam been paying more attention, he might have noticed how tired she looked. As is, he only took note that his enemy was right in front of him. And she had even insulted him last night!
Tha's not fair! I wanna go too!
-->Haha! I'm first, Kurtis!
-->--> Don't be a jerk, Sam.
Me too, me too!!
--> Too bad!!
-->--> Hey! Don't tease Cee, Sam!
-->-->--> I can do it myself, Kurt!
-->-->-->--> I'm the boy, I'm 'upposed to protect you!
-->-->-->-->--> You're jus' being a stupid-face!
-->-->-->-->-->--> No I'm not- oh! No, we're jus' -
-->-->-->-->-->-->--> Kurt, Cee, what was that?
-->-->-->-->-->-->-->--> Don't keep my bro n' sis up, Sam. Kay?
-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->--> ...Oh, it's just Vee.
-->-->--> Don't be so weird about your sister, dude.
-->-->-->--> It's not weird! Tha's jus' my style.
-->-->-->-->--> Yeah, whatever.
Sam, go to bed.
--> What? But I don't wanna!
-->--> Don't be stupid.
-->-->--> 'M not stupid, you're stupid!
-->-->-->--> It's past your bedtime.
-->-->-->-->--> Is not!
-->-->-->-->-->--> It is. Go to bed, stupid.

"You don't know nothin', Sophie! "

The girl sighed and then just give him a flat look. Sam hesitated a bit, gulping. Maybe she did know... that he snuck out without asking Mommy or Mama. No-! There was no way she knew that! He has to stand his ground. He smirked a little and then waved a finger at her, taunting her.

"See? You're not saying nothing."

"Where's your mothers?"

"...They let me come alone, 'cus I'm all grown up!"

"You're five, Sam." The girl said oh, oh so flatly.

"Yeah, well, yer only eight!"

"I'm still older, so I know best."

Sam knew this was a losing match. Thinking of anything which could make him win, he quickly thought of something obvious- oh! "Mama's an overlord! So I'm the best!"

"Stupid." Sophie sighed here before simply shaking her head and opening the door to let Sam in after her.

Sam knew he had won there. She stopped arguing, so that means he was the winner, right? Nodding proudly to himself, he marched on into the school building after Sophie. In silence, they walked down the hall to their first class. He knew he was together with her, so he might as well follow her. She had been going to school for a while now so she knew- no! He was just letting her show him where the go because he had won and didn't want her to get mad because of that. He was just being nice, that's all. She should be thankful! After all, he was the son of an overlord!

Soon enough, they were in the classroom. Sophie too her usual street and Sam, not sure where he ought to sit, just took the seat right behind her. Sophie sighed a little again, but made no visible move to shoo him out of the chair. And there, because they were so early, they would be waiting for the next hour. Sam had underestimated how long an hour was though, and so he worried a little... he wondered if his Mama or Mommy were freaking out or not.
Hey, Prof Nebilim. Y'know that Sam's going to school tomorrow, right? I just want to make sure you know- well- tell me if anything goes wrong with him, alright?! I'm his father, so I've got every right to hear every report you have on him. And don't you dare skimp out of things.
--> Of course, Haruhi. I'll be sure to tell you if anything happens.
-->--> ...Right. Good.
-->-->--> Oh, but what if he doesn't call you his father during his show and tell day?
-->-->-->--> Wh-what the hell. Who cares about stupid things like that! I mean if that little white haired brat- forget it! Just tell me is things go wrong and that's that, okay?!
-->-->-->-->--> You know, with Raine on leave, the one watching his class is actually Willow. Maybe you should talk to her...
-->-->-->-->-->--> You're the boss, so I'm talking to you. It's a matter of principle to always talk to the head person in charge when making demands.
--> ...Haruhi, you're a girl, you can't be his dad.
-->--> Shut up! I'm the father!

"He took off because you were being slow getting up! You weren't even working yesterday, Jeez. What are you doing being such a sleepy-head on an important day like this?!"

"Shut up! You should have woken me up earlier if you're not concerned!"

There was no way that she, Haruhi, could admit that she thought she might let the other girl sleep in a little. Or that she sleeping face was really cute. As such, she racked her brains for a suitable retort as she folded her arms, watching the other girl polish off getting dressed.

"You should have known to get up without me waking you up!"

In response to that, the other girl, blonde, sighed dramatically and slapped a hand on her forehead before shaking her head. "Nevermind. If you know so much better, why don't you just go get him yourself?"

Haruhi blushed a little herself, and then shook her head. No, they had decided long ago to be more honest, but it was still hard to admit fault in arguments like this. However, her lack of reply was telling. After Winry finished getting her hair up in a ponytail and glanced over, she smiled. Oh, the blonde new that expression. Thus, after finishing getting her hair up she walked on over to the other girl before planting a quick kiss on her lips.

Haruhi blinked and hung her head a little before turning on her heel and starting to march out the door. "Come on, we better make sure he showed up!"

Winry laughed a little at the other girl. It was so cute how she acted like that sometimes, even if it was really annoying at others. But right now, she was really thankful that she had been able to have someone she love be with her like this for so long, even if it had been rough at first.

"Alright, coming!"
Alright everyone: looking at you, dudes, chicks, and everyone else! I'm the chief of the SOS-Brigade, and I'm here to tell you that we're recruiting right now. If you step forward, and send a message to my secretary, Miu, and she'll get things sorted out, alright?

For those of you who don't know, the SOS-Brigade's the best club ever! My friend Haruk- Haruhi made it a long time ago, and we've been operating since! I'm the current Chief though, and if you have any complaints you can come tell me. Oh, and if you've got anything we ought to investigate, come forward for that too! Anything which can be done to make Luceti more fun and exciting it our responsibility...

Huh. Wait... Hey! Everyone! The SOS-Brigade is going to put on a soccer game this afternoon! Leon, c'mon, we'll do set up the stuff right now. Anyone who wants a good time, meet us there this afternoon! Yeah! And everyone who comes can get to know more about the Brigade too!

-And before you asked, Raine, I'm totally on top of my homework, okay?

The sight of three four year old children playing in the playground behind the school after class had ended was far from an alien sight. Nor was the lone woman watching them, sitting on the bench and singing quietly to herself. This was, in actuality, a decidedly ordinary sight. The parents of the children playing right then were performing their daily ritual elsewhere in town, and while it had been a tiresome thing at first, the singing woman was long since used to these excursions with the children. Actually, she had long since come to enjoy them. Though it saddened her in a part she did not even fully understand to see that the children before her - one boy with pinkish-silver hair, and two identical girls with bright red hair - looked so similar to the parents but... she'd long since given up on understanding that hurt. Instead, she focused on how pleasant it was to be here.

As for the kids themselves, there was clearly some sort of contest going on. The two red-haired girls were wearing the same outfit today, and both were smirking little grins. One was looking a tad colder than the other, but on the whole they looked about the same. They both stood in front of the pinkish-haired boy, and the one on the left spoke first.

"Kay, Kurtis... which one of us's which?"

The boy - Kurtis - looked at both his sisters. They really did look the same. He scratched his head, more than a little confused at why they were even playing this game again, before sighing and pointing to the one who talked first.

"You're Vee, right?"

The two girls looked at each other and then nodded. The one he had pointed at put a hand on her tiny chest and nodded.

"You're absolutely..."

"...wrong." The other girl finished. And then both girls broke out laughing.

Kurtis blushed before stomping a foot on the ground, looking more than a little annoyed. "Hey! That's no fair, only Vee says 'kay' all the time!"

The girl who he had thought was Vee - actually, her name was Cecilia - simply but a playful smirk on her face. In the tone of talking to someone very slow, she commented: "Oh Kurt..."

"There's no way that you'll be able to marry one of us if you can't tell'us apart!"

That comment came from the other girl - the real Vee, though her full name was Vanessa - with a little laugh. As she said that, who was who became obvious as her sister and her brother's faces both turned beat-red. Vee just laughed at the both of them. They were so silly about that. She slapped her identical sister on the back just below her wings.

"You wanna' marry Kurt too, right?"

"W-well... Yes..."

Kurt blinked once and then shook his head. "Hey- A man can only marry one girl! Th-that's my style-!"

The two twins looked at each other. While Cee at first looked dejected, a knowing eyebrow arch from her sister seemed to immediately brighten her up. She nodded, as if they had exchanged non-verbally or something. But either way, when they turned back to Kurtis... they both tackled him! And planted a little kiss on either one of his cheeks.

Meanwhile, the woman watching them had just finished her song. She shook her head and sighed a little. "It looks like Master Kurtis will be just like his father after all..."
