Personality: Jill Valentine has a strong, independent personality, the kind you'd expect from a woman that was in the military. Most of the time, especially in stressful situations, she's surprisingly cool, calm, and collected. She's good at thinking on her feet, and breaking down the situation to figure out the best course of action.
The most we see of Jill is during these stressful situations, when she has to move quickly or be killed, when she has to take on multiple Hunters at a time, or when she has to take down an unkillable monster that's bent on destroying her. She's suffered through terrible things, seen things no human should ever see, and while these tragedies have helped with her goal in eradicating any Umbrella cell, they've also morphed her personality.
Outside of stressful situations, Jill is still tense and ready for anything. She's always paranoid, and while that's dipped off over the last several years after joining B.S.A.A., it hasn't disappeared. She's not quick to trust others, and it can take awhile for her to warm up to people. The only time she ever lets her guard down is when she's in the presence of close friends [EG: Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers].
Oddly enough, despite her somewhat cold shell, Jill is a good and loyal friend when you get to know her. She's the type of woman that would sacrifice anything for those she cares about, even her life if it came down to it. She can be motherly, and caring, especially around children, although stern. She's got a somewhat quirky sense of humor that she'll sometimes use as an ice breaker.
Jill also has a strong sense of morals, and suffers greatly from the guilt of watching people die countless times with no chance or ability to save them. It's one of the reasons she joined (and helped create, being one of the 11 original members) the B.S.A.A. to begin with, alongside with eradicating Bio-terrorism from the world.
